The website says it will come out in 2019 while the Steam page says 2021. The point is the date is irrelevant as nobody knows when and if this game will ship. For some context, the first game launched in 2010.

4The Last Campfire

Hello Games really made an impact this generation when they announcedNo Man’s Skywith Sony. After not keeping up with promises when it finally launched, the current version in 2020 is more along the lines of what players expected it to be.

The point is that game was an ambitious idea. At the Game Awards in 2018, they announced their next project,The Last Campfirewhich presumably is a more toned down, smaller experience. That sounds like the right call to make.

1Windjammers 2

Windjammersfirst hit arcades in 1994. It would not resurface until a few years ago when Giant Bomb, among other outlets, rediscovered it and brought it back into the limelight.

This prompted a port to consoles in 2017. Then, in 2018, a sequel was announced making it the biggest gap between game releases on this list. Imagine waiting twenty-six years for a sequel. That’s only a guess as it isn’t known when the game will be out but the point is still strong.
