There is no doubt that Chief is skilled enough to beat several of these combatants, but there are also some who are just too strong for him to handle.
10Would Destroy: Scorpion
Scorpion has done his fair share ofheinous and heroic acts over the course of the series, but that happens when a character becomes a vengeful spirit under false pretenses. As the leader of the Shirai Ryu, Scorpion is a master martial artist, but those skills alone will not be enough to beat Master Chief. Scorpion’s trademark kunai will do nothing against Chief’s armor, but he can literally summon hellfire from the ground to burn Chief alive in his armor, and he manipulate fire in other ways too.

Baraka is a Tarkatan who happens to be one of theweirdest looking fighters in the series, as he has a large mouth with razor sharp teeth and blades that protrude all over his body. Baraka also happens to be one of the most vicious fighters, as he can eviscerate his opponents with the retractable blades in his forearms.

Chief doesn’t have to worry about the blades though because they will likely break once they strike his Spartan armor. Recent games have also shown that bullets can take down a Tarkatan, so all Chief has to do is not miss his shots.
8Would Destroy: Shang Tsung
The argument can be made thatShang Tsung is the best villain in the series, and for good reason as he is incredibly smart and powerful. Chief has fought more than one advanced alien race, but he has never fought a powerful sorcerer who can steal and absorb souls.
Shang Tsung can use his powers to bombard Chief with flaming skulls and other supernatural objects, but if Chief manages to avoid all of his attacks, all the sorcerer has to do is drain Chief’s soul until there is no more life left in his body.
7He Could Beat: Goro
In terms of pure strength, Goro is one of the most powerful fighters inMortal Kombat –as evidenced by the fact that he can literally rip a full grown man in half with his bare hands.Goro mainly relies on his brute strength when fighting, but he can also blast fire at his opponents.
It would be a tough fight, but Chief should be able to beat the imposing Shokan since he is accustomed to fighting and defeatingCovenant Brutes and Elites– who are similar in size and usually wear some kind of advanced armor.
6Would Destroy: Onaga
Fans may stillnot know what happened to Onaga, but as the former ruler of Outworld, he is one of the strongest beings in the series. The Dragon King is huge, and he is known for his immense superhuman strength, magic immunity, and the ability to raise the dead.

Onaga is capable of destroying a God like Raiden, so an enhanced human like Chief should be no problem. If he were to grab Chief, he would be able to crush his body as if it were a twig, and if he removes Chief’s helmet, he could bathe his head in dragon flame.
5He Could Beat: Sektor
Sektor is one ofMortal Kombat’smany ninja, but he is unique because he was transformed into a cyborg, which gives him enhanced strength and durability. As a cyborg ninja, Sektor is a capable martial artist who can fire rockets and missiles from various parts of his body, and even has a flamethrower.
It is true that Sektor’s body would probably be able to handle Master Chief’s punches, but if Chief uses an energy sword or a Needler, his metal plating will be worthless. Chief also has a reaction time of 20 milliseconds, so he will be able to dodge and intercept Sektors ranged attacks with ease.
4Would Destroy: Ermac
Outworld has fought many wars, which means that it has amassed quite a large body count, and the fusion of all those souls is the reason why Ermac exists. Due to the vast number of souls in Ermac’s body, he has acquired the ability to teleport and travel between realms, but he also has telekinesis.
Chief may have advanced weapons, but Ermac can simply teleport to avoid being hit. The Spartan armor also happens to be useless here, because Ermac can grab Chief with his mind, lift him in the air, and pull him apart.
3He Could Beat: Sonya Blade
Sonya Blade is a tough woman who leads Earthrealm’s Special Forcesand she can beat a number of fighters from different games.She went through a great deal of combat training, which is why she is skilled with her fists, legs, and firearms.
She can also use grenades and drones, as well as pink energy rings which she can use as projectiles. As a Spartan, Chief excels at hand – to – hand combat, but unlike Sonya, he has full body armor and his superhuman reflexes will allow him to avoid all of her tech. She also happens to be an ordinary human, so Chief can just use a gun or energy sword against her.

Chief’s armor gives him a lot of advantages, but if he were to go up against Raiden, the armor will become nothing more than deadweight. As the God of Thunder Raiden is capable of controlling lightning – to the point that he can either fire it at an opponent or cover his body with it.

If Raiden hits Chief with his lighting, all of the systems within Chief’s armor will short circuit and become ineffective, which means that he will lose the extra strength and speed that the armor provides. Seeing as his helmet is connected to his optic nerves, he will likely go blind too.
1He Could Beat: Johnny Cage
Johnny Cage has hadmany different looks over the course of the series, but his moves and personality have pretty much remained the same. Johnny happens to be a very gifted and agile martial artist who can use superhuman powers to enhance his attacks and fire green orbs.
Chief would wipe the floor with him though, because even Johnny’s empowered punches and kicks wouldn’t be able to put a dent in Chief’s armor. This means that Johnny’s signature Nut Breaker move would also have zero effect. Johnny also happens to be human, which means that Chief will be able to put him down with any of his guns.
