TheA Quiet Placefilm series has become one of most popular horror-thriller franchises of the past few years. Capitalizing on the series' success, Paramount Pictures has announced that anA Quiet Placevideo game is currently in development.
A Quiet Place’s premise may not be the most revolutionary—a family surviving against a monster who can only track its prey through hearing—but the execution of the premise is why audiences are still thinking about these films. This year finally saw the release of thedelayedA Quiet Place 2, picking up immediately after the events of the original film, and expanding the world to show that there are, in fact, other survivors out there. Furthermore, the child actors take on larger roles in the sequel, becoming just as important as the adult characters, and help the stage for the already-confirmedA Quiet Place 3.

Paramount Pictures announced today that there is anA Quiet Placevideo game in development. The news comes through an official press release by Saber Interactive as well as the launch of a new website, describing the basic information of the game over a mysterious campground scene. “This first official video game set in the terrifyingA Quiet Placeuniverse will deliver an original story and gameplay that captures the compelling suspense, emotion and drama for which the series is famous,” Saber Interactive writes. Studios attached to the project include iLLOGIKA, EP1T0ME, and Saber Interactive, the developers of the upcoming, and recently delayed,Evil Dead: The Game.
iLLOGIKA, a Montreal-based studio featuring many industry veterans, is developing the game with the help of EP1T0ME, a Texas-based studio with offices throughout the United States. The former studio has co-developed many recognizable titles includingCupheadandLara Croft Go, while the latter specializes in story-driven experiences across a variety of mediums. Saber Interactive, a worldwide studio with offices in a variety of countries, will be publishing theA Quiet Placegame. According to Todd Hollenshead, Head of Publishing at Saber Interactive, “A Quiet Placeis the first game [Saber] will be releasing by an external studio from [its] growing Saber publishing label.”
It was only a matter of time beforeA Quiet Placewould step into the video game scene, as the premise of the franchise seems like it will translate well into gameplay. If the game takes the route ofAlien: IsolationorAmnesia: The Dark Descent, where the player must be conscious of their noise level while constantly being pursued by an intelligent AI monster, this has the potential to be something great. Licensed games are notorious for not sticking the landing, however, so hopefully this one can break free from that curse.
A Quiet Placeis set to release in 2022.
