At various points throughout the game,Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthplayers will have a chance to trigger optional conversations by speaking withother members of the party. At first glance, these transient talks appear to have very little bearing on the main story outside of world-building, but each one has the potential to strengthen Cloud’s relationship with his traveling companions.

IfFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthplayers do decide to initiate one of these optional conversations, they’ll be presented with three possible responses and asked to choose one of them before a timer runs out. Choosing the best responses will strengthen Cloud’s relationship with the person that he’s talking to, which can in turn have an impact on who he ends up dating later on in the game.

Players should be sure to speak with everybody before heading to the clock tower to meet with Aerith, as doing so will advance the main story.

There are five optional conversations in Chapter 6 ofFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, all of which take place on the Costa del Sol beach following the encounter with Hojo. Players will be able to speak withAerith,Barret,Red XIII,Tifa, andYuffiehere, with an additional,unmissable conversation with Yuffietaking place at the very end of the chapter. Players should make sure that they speak with everybody before leaving the beach, as doing so will advance the main story.

The Chapter 9 conversations can be triggered afterarriving in Gongaga Villageand looking out over the abandoned reactor.Red XIIIis right by the memorial andTifacan be found outside a nearby house on the path back toward the village. Players will be able to speak withAerithoutside of Zack’s parents' house, though only after completing the Aerith’s Acquaintances main story scenario. The last two party members that players can speak with are both in the vicinity of Cissnei’s house.Barretis hanging around outside, whileYuffieis sprawled across Cissnei’s couch singing songs about her boredom. Players should make a point of speaking with everyone before they rest at Cissnei’s house, as doing so will progress the main story.

To findTifa, players will need to make their way to the second floor of the treatment center, which once served as Tifa’s childhood home. Finally,Red XIIIandYuffieare both near the stairs leading up to the old Shinra mansion. Players should make sure to speak with everyone before heading up these steps, as doing so will advance the main story.
