Animal Crossing: New Horizonscosplayers often need to be creative with their costume ideas, and Twitter user @Mads_five is no exception. ThisAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsfan went above and beyond, though, as she brought the Isabelle and Doom Slayer meme to life in one outfit.
Isabelle and Doom Slayer memesstarted early last year, with the odd pairing being the result ofAnimal Crossing: New HorizonsandDoom Eternallaunching on the same exact day. Since then, fans have fought for the pairing to meet up via exclusive merchandise, anAnimal Crossing: New Horizonscrossover, or aSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateappearance from Doom Guy. While it remains unclear if any of that will happen, @Mads_five has made sure fans could see what the pair would look like if they combined.

If theDoom Slayer appeared inSmash Bros., he would surely play and look like himself. However, @Mads_five’s excellent cosplay makes the case that Isabelle should just don some Doom-themed armor instead. The cosplay sees the Nintendo fan taking on the appearance of the helpful dog, with her hair kept blonde and short. A red bow is worn at the top of her head, with ears attached to make her look more like the head of Resident Services. She also makes sure to paint the tip of her nose black for good measure.
However, beyond her hair and makeup, she takes on a far more violent appearance. Makeup appearing like blood can be seen on her face, while an in incredible version of the Doom Slayer’s Praetor suit is worn by the cosplayer. Covering her from head to toe, apart from one exposed area on each arm, the suit looks amazing — so much so that it is hard not to think about the potential ofa female Doom Slayer. With the gauntlets, shoulder pads, and waist armor all extending outward slightly, the outfit is incredible.
One other detail worthy of praise is that the love shown forthe Doom Guy’s weaponry. Not only does she have a blade attached to her wrist, but the iconic Super Shotgun is captured in its full glory via the cosplay. The new grappling hook ability fromDoom Eternalis also included, making the outfit even more up to date. With the post getting the brilliant title of “Rip and Care,” it is safe to say that @Mads_five knocked it out of the park with her portrayal of an armored Isabelle.
WithDoom EternalandAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsover a year oldnow, it is great to see that this harmless meme has endured the test of time. While it would be great to see Nintendo itself acknowledge it more in the future, cosplayers like this have ensured that the joke lives on and continues to evolve.
