When it comes to anime movies, it’s hard to find anything more classic than the films made by Studio Ghibli.Kiki’s Delivery Serviceis a charming animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki himself, the co-founder of Studio Ghibli. The film follows a young witch named Kiki and her talking cat Jiji as they start a delivery service in a coastal city, using Kiki’s broomstick flying abilities. During her journey, Kiki finds a bakery whose owners are kind enough to let her stay in the spare bedroom above the business. Fans of the classic anime have created fan art based on the bakery for years, and it was only a matter of time before this settingcrossed over withAnimal Crossing: New Horizons.

Reddit user MilkRoses97 has taken on the challenge of recreating the classic set inNew Horizons. The image posted looks as accurate as humanly possible to the movie, from the color scheme and lighting to the array of baked goods positioned around the room. Fans of the classic movie have wanted aKiki’s Delivery Servicegamefor the longest time, and this recreation may, unfortunately, be the closest thing those fans will get. It’s not always easy basing designs inAnimal Crossingon movie references, but by judging from the reactions in the comments, this recreation does Kiki’s bakery justice.
To make this crossover even more destined, the feline villager showcased in the posted image is none other than the classicAnimal Crossingcharacter named Kiki. Kiki is not known for being arare villager inAnimal Crossing, and is considered to be a common, “normal” villager who has been featured in the series since its conception. It’s a nice touch adding Kiki to this recreation, and it was lucky that MilkRoses97 had the character available on their island to use.
Taking the fact that this room is based on a movie out of the equation, the area itself is very nicely done. Everything looks aesthetically pleasing, with no item feeling out of place. It’s good to see that after so many years after its release, players can still come up withexcellent designs inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons.
