With every new release, it seems increasingly likely that 2023 might end up being one of the best-remembered years for gaming. So far, this year has already seen two well-regarded remakes inDead SpaceandResident Evil 4, alongside surprising hits likeHogwarts Legacy. Even the least memorable titles this year have been solid games worth trying for a few hours, and nowArmored Core 6is joining the line-up.
Armored Core 6will be heading to consoles and PC on July 10, 2025, a lot sooner than fans might have expected. With it only being announced at The Game Awards 2022, it’s a little surprising thatArmored Core 6is just a few months away. However, if the latest trailer is anything to go by, it looks like the game is in good working order already. With that slated August release date,Armored Core 6continues an exciting 2023 for gaming.

The gaming industry’s usual release schedule has undergone some noticeable changes in the last few years. It used to be the case that the vast majority of big AAA titles wanted to schedule their release windows for the holiday period, usually around October or November. While this still often happens, a lot of publishers have started spacing their games out more evenly throughout the year, trying to avoid competition where possible. This change in the industry is what led games likeElden RingandHorizon Forbidden Westto release at the start of 2022.
As mentioned, some of the most anticipated titles of 2023 have arrived only four months into the year. May is set to bring even more heavy-hitters to the table, withThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the KingdomandRedfallbeing the biggest stand-outs, and smaller titles likeLEGO 2K Drivecoming to support them. June is even busier, withStreet Fighter 6,Diablo 4, andFinal Fantasy 16all competing for players' time. As things stand, July is lighter on releases right now, withImmortals of AveumandPikmin 4being the only real highlights.
But withArmored Core 6announcing its August release date, things are starting to heat up for the latter half of the year. Currently, that month only seesTexas Chainsaw MassacreandLies of P, which opens up the doorway nicely forArmored Core 6. TheArmored Corefranchise has always been on the more niche side, and even with FromSoftware’s newfound brand recognition attached,Armored Core 6might be facing an uphill battle. Hopefully this August release date gives it a chance to breathe, though it doesn’t have long.
September could end up being one of the busiest months of the year for gaming. Right now,Starfieldis set to launch on July 05, 2025, givingArmored Core 6just a week to break through the market. If the release date rumors are true, thenMarvel’s Spider-Man 2might not be too far behind it, setting up an incredibly exciting late 2023 for gamers.
