With the number of nude walking behemoths inAttack on Titanduking it out for supremacy andviewer pleasure, it’s easy for the regular guys and gals to get dwarfed. Non-titan characters in the said anime tend to have a smaller screen presence, literally. Still, that doesn’t mean they’re not as important or as powerful as the Shifter Titan inheritors.

While Eren and his half-brother Zeke might be the big players now inAttack on Titan(both literally and figuratively), other characters have more kills, more medals, or have proven themselves braver or more influential. Considering they’re not titans, that’s quite an achievement; they were able to stand tall alongside giants.
Updated July 01, 2025 by Sid Natividad:Attack on Titan is finally ready to wrap itself up and the whole war epic spanning almost a decade. Eren and every Eldian’s suffering is about to come to an end with what’s in store. The plans are big and the power players are all that are pulling the strings, namely the Shifter Titans.
However, even some of the non-Shifter Titan characters have something to say about that. They’re certainly not backing out of the fight despite having only their measly limbs and conventional human weaponry. So to appreciate these titans-at-heart characters, here are five more of them – each one could probably take down a titan on their own.
14Mike Zacharias
Mike Zacharias didn’t get to display much of his prowess and skill thanks to the Beast Titan robbing him of that opportunity. So fans will have to take Paradis' word-of-mouth that Mike wassecond only to Levi when it comes to fighting against titans.

That kind of reputation isn’t built up easily. He did have a breakdown when confronted with the Beast Titan but Mike managed to shake himself out of it pretty fast, though it was too late, as his legs were already mangled. Regardless, the fact that he survived as the vanguard of the Survey Corps should be enough as a testament to his skill.
13Connie Springer
Speaking of someone who’ssurvived several wars and countless lethal encountersunder the Survey Corps, Connie Springer deserves a hero’s recognition. He’s the same batch as Eren and he’s stuck with the Survey Corps for that long. The process of surviving that many battles alone make Connie impressive, especially when more experienced comrades have died.
It could be that Connie was lucky, but one has to give him some commendations for havingimpressive mental fortitudeconsidering the fact that he saw his parents and hometown get turned into grotesque titans by the Beast Titan. In any case, Connie’s still standing strong.
12Petra Ral
Petra Ral isn’t exactly that impressive in combat compared to other Survey Corps members, but she was actuallyhandpicked by Levihimself to be in his squad. That puts her a tier above the rest of the Survey Corps as Levi tends to be picky and meticulous with just about anything.

That isn’t to say Petra isn’t a slouch. She has displayedquick reaction times and useful team consolidation skillswhere she evenconvinced Eren to trust Levi’s squad. She’salready dead, sadly, but it’s a bit of a reprieve to know that she died by the Female Titan’s hand (or foot) instead of being half-eaten to death like junk food by some random infantile titan.
11Falco Grice
Poor Falco Grice has all the makings of a shonen protagonist and is somehow reminiscent of Eren back when he was a young innocent boy. He’s an Eldian who likes Gabi Braun so much, he’s dedicated his life to protect her from anything, be it the process of getting chosen as a Shifter or the rage of hateful Paradis soldiers.
At times, it’s even worrying asFalco has literally and figuratively become a punching bag for Gabi’s sake. He’s been tortured, beaten by adults, survived Eren’s onslaught, and even fought in war – and he’s just a kid; a tough one albeit.
10Gabi Braun
Most ofthe fanbasehates her with a passion but let’s be objective here, Gabi Braun is one heck of a soldier even for someone her age. She’s one of thecandidates for the Shifter Titanand Reiner Braun’s cousin and was supposed to inherit the Armored Titan.
Despite being still a teenager, she essentially became awar herodue to her cunning and boldness. So bold that she acted out of impulse and managed to kill a veteran of Paradis, namely Sasha Blouse. A few more years and she would’ve been more powerful than her cousin Reiner, even without the Armored Titan.
9Sasha Blouse
Despite being killed by a single bullet, Sasha Blouse deserves a spot here for being a veteran ofthe Survey Corpsalone. Whereas many of her comrades have fallen or digested by titans, she remained one of the most competent soldiers. For someone as carefree as she is, that’s pretty impressive.

Then there’s the fact that she wasable to stop a titan with nothing but a bow and arrow. During her younger years, Sasha could easily become empowered with but a whiff of food alone. If she were to become a titan, she probably could have eaten everyone in Paradis and have seconds afterward in Marley.
8Jean Kirstein
One of the most underrated characters in the show, Jean Kirstein, otherwise known as horse-face, is Eren’s squad rival and a good friend. He’ssecond only to Armin when it comes to tactical and strategic thinking.
The difference is thatJean is also a capable fighterespecially when it comes to taking down titans with squad precision. To that end, Jean was born to be a leader since, among all of Eren’s circle of recruits, he’s the one who manages to keep a level head at all times. In the latest season, he wasinstrumental in taking down the Cart Titan.
7Hange Zoe
Speaking of someone instrumental to the Survey Corps and Paradis, Hange Zoe is one of the lesser appreciated characters. She’s not exactly as strong or as tough as some of the more stereotypical fighters in the Survey Corps but heraptitude for research and intelligence has made her irreplaceable.

Her knowledge about titans and experiments is second to none in the Survey Corps. Additionally, she wasErwin Smith’s designated second-in-commandand was picked by Erwin himself to succeed him if he falls.
6Dot Pyxis
Dot Pyxis is way past his prime as a soldier but he remains one of the most imposing figures in Paradis due to his influence in the Garrison Regiment. Pyxis is also the top officer of the said regiment, making him some kind of a general.
With that kind of authority, he can mobilize his own regiment which pretty much makes up a third of all the military in Paradis.Dot Pyxis can easily stage a coupas he demonstrated and even rally other top officers behind him.
5Historia Reiss
Much like Hange, Historia isn’t the most skillful or the most accomplished member of the Survey Corps but herroyal bloodandupright moral compassmake her an ideal sovereign of Paradis. That’s why easing into the Queen role was natural for her.

Now, she’s one of the most important people in Paradis andthe whole anime worldinAttack on Titan. Historia essentially has the whole of Paradis at her command as long as the generals and the army regiments are loyal to her. Of course, the people’s support is a significant factor, which she has in spades.
