When it comes toCall of Duty, theflagship FPS franchisealways brings something new to each game, whether it’s thrilling and terrifying zombie experiences or exhilarating multiplayer game modes. Infinity Ward seems to specialize in the latter, for their 2022Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2remaaster features plenty of new game modes for players to enjoy.
Included in the base release ofModern Warfare 2is the game mode Invasion. This high-octane battle mode includes 40 people, with two teams of 20. There are also 20 AI characters, and theModern Warfare 2game mode promises a lot of patience and calming yet calculated warfare that requires thought and tips to become the best Invasion player.
5Chill Combat
With a game mode like Invasion, players will be in a unique setting that separatesModern Warfare 2from otherCall of Dutygames. The maps are large, and the player numbers are huge. With so many players, AI or otherwise, it’s no surprise that there’s a lot more freedom than normal. As such, the Invasion game mode can be rather relaxed, with an emphasis on chilled combat due to the large scope of the game mode at hand.

Players shouldn’t anticipate any jarring or threatening tactics to win, as Invasion is mainly about having a good time in a large play area. This doesn’t mean the mode is free from war, but it doesn’t have the intensity of other modes, so players should relax to be good.
4Understand The Large Map
Each new iteration ofCall of Dutycomes with a brand-new set of maps for the multiplayer modes. It’s always best to learn these maps, for each one is brimming with secret tactics, unique spawn points, and different ways and routes to traverse. In Invasion, there’s a larger map at hand than a classicCall of Dutymap. Its size and scale are increased, meaning that there are plenty of areas to explore and become familiar and comfortable with.
By learning the map, players will gain a keen sense of callouts for their squad, as well as a vast knowledge of specific areas. Players will be able to know where enemies will be spawning, or which locations are great pressure points to fight againstthe other team. Understanding maps, small or big, is always essential to ensure the player does not get lost and confused.
3Bring Ranged Loadouts
Everyone who has playedCall of Dutybefore knows the importance of a loadout. Individualism is key inCall of Duty, with each player electing their style of play. Some like to run around with just a knife, others prefer explosives, and some like a more tactical approach. Everyone has their approach toModern Warfare 2. However, players shouldn’t rely on just one style, as there are plenty of different ways to play and engage inModern Warfare 2’s Invasion mode.
By picking more than one loadout, players can experiment withnew weaponsand how they work. Anessential weaponshould be something with a decent range, like a sniper rifle. This is because of thesize of the map, and with a sniper, players will be able to see from long distances, and perhaps even take a nice kill shot from many meters away.
2Find Vehicles
Vehicles are a somewhat recent addition toCall of Duty’s player mindset. They were not always on their maps, but sometimes they are, and they can be entirely deadly. Considering the scope of Invasion,Modern Warfare 2features plenty of vehicles inthe game mode. These can help players in a variety of ways, from getting to different locations, to running people over, or even shooting them from the vehicle. There are endlesspossibilities with Invasion, and vehicles are a way to keep on top of the brewing carnage of the expanding and large warzone ahead.

From the wide selection of vehicles available, players should find the one that suits them. On-the-ground vehicles like trucks are great for taking hits and smashing into things, and can go fairly fast. They’re great for shipping a squad to another place, much like a helicopter. Helicopters are great for keeping control of the skies and watching people below with sniper rifles. Just be warned of enemy explosives that can seek out choppers.
With Invasion being such a large game mode, it has the detriment of feeling rather lonely. With over 20 players on each side, it’s only right to want a squad mate to talk to, interact with, and enter a warzone with. By having a squad, or even just one member, the teamwork can add a layer of fun to Invasion that one might not expect, whether that’s having fun in the game, orworking tacticallytogether.
There are plenty of opportunities to help each other in Invasion, whether it’s by having a shooter and a driver or just spotting enemies to take out together. Perhaps players may even find themselves in a place where enemies are not yet to be seen, so they just talk to their friends whilst waiting patiently for a war to brew.
