Activision is adding two fan-favorite maps toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2multiplayer in Season 1. Even though thecampaign ofModern Warfare 2was available from October 20, the multiplayer and Special Ops game modes came out with the official release on October 28. Fans who finished various campaign missions could unlock special bonuses such as XP boosters, operators, and other cosmetic items.
Modern Warfare 2shipped with 10 maps for its core playlist, along with a few larger ones for the Ground War game mode. Different players will likely have varying opinions on the quality of these levels, although Crown Raceway seems to be a popular choice as thebest map inModern Warfare 2. Activision has now confirmed that two fan-favorite maps will make a return toMW2multiplayer during Season 1.

Activision confirms thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2will get Shoot House and Shipment during Season 1. Shoot House is said to launch alongside the release of the season on November 16, with Shipment set to come in the middle. The officialCall of Dutypost mentions that both maps will be reimagined in some way, and has shared images to give gamers a preview of the redesign. Shipment appears to have undergone the biggest changes, as the map will now be set on an actual cargo ship.
Both Shoot House and Shipment are known for their fast-paced and action-packed gameplay, allowing users to quickly get into frantic combat encounters. They are also incredibly useful for quickly leveling up guns and finishing variousdaily challenges inModern Warfare 2.
The same Activision post reveals a ton of new information on Season 1 forMW2. It confirms that a special CDL Moshpit playlist will come toCall of Dutyfor users interested in practicing for ranked gameplay.Modern Warfare 2will get a new Special Ops missioncalled High Ground in Season 1. In this mission, one player will be in charge of piloting an Attack Chopper while the other works with AI companions to infiltrate a building containing enemy equipment.
Fans can also find moreinformation onWarzone 2.0which launches on November 16 alongside the new season. Activision has highlighted the official release time forWarzone 2.0as well as the new features coming at launch. It has also shared details on the DMZ game mode, stating that it’s a narrative-focused extraction mode set in an open world.
