On April 1, a number of video games celebrated April Fools' Day with special in-game events. One of the funniest April Fools' Day pranks in a video game had to be fromCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, with a playlist that made players think they were going to be playing on the popular Shipment map, only to be thrown in a match on the least favorite map, Piccadilly. With April Fools' Day now over, Infinity Ward has removed theModern WarfareApril Fools' Day playlists, replacing them with a pair of playlists that are sure to please fans.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers will note that the April Fools' Day playlists are gone and in their place are playlists that let players play Shipment and Rust 24/7. Shipment and Rust are two of the most popular maps inModern Warfare, so this will no doubt be met with enthusiasm from the community. However, some fans have expressed disappointment that one of the April Fools' Day playlists, that allowed for 10v10 on Shipment, has also been given the axe.

Considering the surprisingly positive response to the 10v10 Shipment playlist, it’s possible Infinity Ward will bring it back in a future update. However, that remains to be seen, and for now,Modern Warfarefans will have to settle forregular Shipmentin the map’s new 24/7 playlist.
Next week will likely bring with it even more playlist changes toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. It’s possible that the Cyber Attack Pro playlist will be dropped in exchange for something new, especially sinceModern WarfareSeason 3is expected to launch on Tuesday, April 7, and bring with it a number of changes to the popular first-person shooter.
If pastModern Warfareseasons are anything to go by,Modern WarfareSeason 3 will likely include new game modes, maps, and more. While it remains to be seen what new game modes could be introduced withModern WarfareSeason 3, we do have any idea as to what new maps can expect. TheModern Warfare 3map Village and theCall of Duty 4map Backlothave both leaked, suggesting that they could very well be added toModern Warfarewith the game’s planned April 7 update.
Infinity Wardwill likely share more information on whatCall of Dutyfans can expect fromModern WarfareSeason 3 as we get closer to April 7. In the meantime, fans can still enjoy Season 2 until then, and take advantage of a Double XP weekend starting Friday, April 3.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
