TheCall of Duty: Vanguardopen beta just started mere hours ago, with the beta previously only available to PlayStation users and those that pre-ordered on PC and Xbox. However, Activision has wasted no time extending theCall of Duty: Vanguardopen beta dates, givingCall of Dutyenthusiasts an extra couple days to play the game ahead of its November 5 launch.
While it was previously expected to wrap up on September 20, theCall of Duty: Vanguardopen betawill now continue until Wednesday, September 22 at 10am PT. There will be no new modes or maps added, butCall of Duty: Vanguardplayers can check out what’s already in the beta. This includes traditionalCall of Dutymultiplayer match types, a handful of maps, and some new modes that are making their debut inVanguard.

TheCall of Duty: Vanguardbeta lets players try out two game modes that are making their franchise debut in the new game. This includes theChampion Hill mode, which is like a tournament-style twist on Gunfight, as well as Patrol. Patrol is available to play on the traditionalCall of Dutymaps inVanguard, and it plays like a mobile game of King of the Hill, with the point moving continuously.
As for the maps,Call of Duty: Vanguardplayers can check out four different maps during the open beta period, consisting of Eagle’s Nest, Gavutu, Hotel Royal, and Red Star. The full game will have a lot more maps available, with 20 planned for launch. The majority of theseCall of Duty: Vanguardmultiplayer mapswill be for the traditional multiplayer modes, but some are being made for the returning 2v2 Gunfight mode in mind instead.
Most of theCall of Duty: Vanguardmultiplayer maps are completely original creations, though some will be pulled from previous games.Call of Duty: Vanguardappears to be taking inspiration fromCall of Duty: World at Warespecially, withWorld at Warmaps Dome and Castlealready confirmed forVanguard’s launch. And while those are the only confirmed returning maps so far, a reputable leaker has given fans an idea of what else to expect.
According to the rumors,Call of Duty: Vanguardwill have Shipmentat some point, bringing the fan favorite map fromCall of Duty 4to yet another game. Not only that, but the Sub Pens map, anotherWorld at Warcreation, is also expected to come toCall of Duty: Vanguardat some point as well. Those two maps haven’t been confirmed by anyone official yet, though, so fans should keep that in mind.
