Call of Duty: Warzone, the franchise’s massively popular battle royale experience, launched with deep ties toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. But asModern Warfaretransitions out with the launch ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War,Warzoneis going to persist. More than that,Warzoneis going to be as deeply tied toBlack Ops Cold Waras it is toModern Warfare. In a new update from Activision,Warzone’s planned integration withBlack Ops Cold Warhas been detailed in more specificity.

Starting with player progression, Activision describes howCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill initially start off separate fromCall of Duty: Modern WarfareandCall of Duty: Warzone. Military Ranks will be used to unlock certain gameplay functionality. Afterward, a new Seasonal Leveling system will be used with the launch ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Pre-Season. But it’s only on December 10, the tentative launch of Season One, when player progression will reset and sync acrossBlack Ops Cold War,Modern Warfare, andWarzonealike.

With Season One’s launch, players will be able to climb through 55 Military Ranks synchronized between all three games. Whether it’s playing Multiplayer or completing Challenges in eitherCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarorCall of Duty:Modern Warfare, or just completingWarzonematches, all experience goes into a shared pool. This system is also included inCall of Duty:Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode. There will also be anew Prestige systemwith a variety of rewards.

As for both weapon andOperator unlocks, Activision has good news on both fronts. All weapons and all Operators unlocked via eitherCall of Duty:Modern WarfareorCall of Duty:Black Ops Cold Warwill be available inWarzone. Weapon progression will also be shared with the game from which the weapon originated. That includes primary and secondary weapons, as well as skins and attachments no matter how they’re unlocked. NoCall of Duty:Modern Warfareweapons or unlocks are going away inWarzonewith the release ofCall of Duty:Black Ops Cold War.

Battle pass progression is a little more complicated.Black Ops Cold War’s Season One battle pass progresswill be shared between all three games. Players can earn battle pass XP inCall of Duty:Modern Warfare,Call of Duty:Warzone, andCall of Duty:Black Ops Cold War. The rewards will only be available inWarzoneandBlack Ops Cold War, though. Past battle pass content will remain accessible inModern WarfareandWarzone, but will not come toBlack Ops Cold War.

Lastly, regarding COD Point purchases,Call of Duty:Modern WarfareandCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warpurchases will not cross over with each other. They will, for the most part, all work withWarzone. The shops will be clearly labeled in the rare case where this isn’t true. Yet again,Call of Duty:Warzonewill be integrated with both otherCall of Dutygames and will remain fully supported going forward.
