Kate Laswell has been an important character during theModern Warfarereboot trilogy, and it seems that her importance has players fill her shoes in the Deep Cover mission forCall of Duty:Modern Warfare3. Some players might want to know how to efficiently guide this ally of Task Force 141 through enemy territory like any spy would: completely under the radar and in stealth.
TheModern Warfare3mission Deep Cover will have players disguised as they venture through a highly secured Russian military base to meet with an asset. Yet, one wrong move, and Laswell is compromised and willhave an entire military basetrying to kill her. This is how players can protect their identity and stay in stealth.
How To Stay In Stealth
Stealth is vital to this mission, and players will want to begin the mission through hitting the Right Button on the D-Pad. This will put the pistol away, and allow Laswell to walk around withouta gun in hand. Its important players do this, otherwise the military personnel will detect Laswell and begin fighting her.
Players also should try and avoid patrols of enemies. Simply walk around them or keep at a safe distance, because if these enemies get closer, they will get suspicious of this unfamiliar face, and upon inspection, they will realise that Laswell is not an ally, but a person who must be detained or killed.
Lastly, players should avoid drawing any unwanted attention, specifically through their actions. Players should not run, jump, crouch, or use the melee button. These actions are considered hostile and suspicious, so players should stick to walking through the military base at a normal pace to avoid any unwanted attention.
Reach The Admin Building
The first objective will see Laswell back in the field. Conceal the weapon, and just head forward down the stairs and into the base. Follow the dirt path forward past the truck, and walk on the opposite path of the patrol to avoid being detected. Just walk through this area like Laswell belongs here.
As players walk, they are going to notice a hanger with an open door. Simply walk through this area to avoid further patrols, and head out through the right door and keep walking until players reach the Admin Building, all whilst ignoring and avoiding enemy patrols. At the Admin Building, Laswell will talk about how she needs a keycard to enter.
Acquire A Keycard
Players will want to watch as a Russian major is escorted out of the Admin Building by two soldiers. His guards will leave his side, and the Russian major will walk up the stairs to the building on the opposite of the Admin Building. Follow him up the stairs until he enters a disclosed room, free from witnesses.
Inside, the major will talk to a Russian soldier. Players will want to get their weapon out and fire at both of them, aiming for two clean shots to the head to negate any chances of them shouting for support, or firing a loud weapon to call issue towards them. Now that both of them are dead, their bodies can be left there, and players will want to pick up the keycard from the major’s body.
Back In The Field Achievement/Trophy (Optional)

If players start the mission and then kill the major to acquire the keycard within 90 seconds, all whilst avoiding detection, they will acquire the Back in the Field achievement. Here are some tips to achieve this:
Meet Yuri
Now with the keycard in hand, head back down the stairs from this concealed room, and go to the main doors at the Admin Building. There’s a keycard reader that players need to access, and after, they will be able to enter the building. Laswell will automatically take off her military cap, and players will want to continue their path to avoid the guards inside.
From the moment they enter the building, just follow the hallway to the right of the entrance, and then take a left through the wooden door to begin a cutscene with Yuri.
Get To The Roof
After the cutscene with Yuri, players are tasked with running to the roof to escape the chemical attack. Players do not need to worry about being concealed, and they are going to want to sprint through this timed section before they are killed by the toxic fumes in thisbrutal FPSmission.
As soon as players take control of Laswell, head out of the door to the right, and then take another right past the main desk. Through the hallway, players need to head up the stairs to the left onto the second floor. From here, take a left, and then a left again, where they will be able to climb up a ladder through an elevator shaft. Once up this floor, take a right through the hallway, and then a left to a staircase, where players will want to bash open the door and jump into the helicopter to end the mission, and safely get out of this area.
