Devolver Digital has had no shortage of indie hits over the years and 2022 managed to add another one to their constantly growing catalog. Massive Monster’s rogue-like action adventure title Cult of the Lamb has managed to become a big success for the developer, achieving over one million sales in the first week it was available while constantly being positioned as one of themost popular games available for the Steam Deck.
Mixing rogue-like action with base building,Cult of the Lambmanaged to pull in both critics and playersalike by mixing multiple game genres together. Players are given ample choice in how they manage their cult and the game features a surprising level of customization to help make it highly replayable for those who want to experience something different in a new playthrough.

However, one of the more surprising elements toCult of the Lambis that the developer continues to create new content, this time announcing a new seasonal event called the Blood Moon Festival. Here is everything players need to know about the newest add-on forCult of the Lamb.
What Is Blood Moon Festival?
Announced in a new trailer forCult of the Lamb, Blood Moon Festival is an in-game event that adds more content to the game for players to check out. The Halloween-inspired event adds a new ritual, follower forms, cult decorations, and more.
New Features
While adventuring and crusading makes up a good portion ofCult of the Lamb, players are also tasked with forming and growing a cult of followers. As part of that,players can unlock new rituals that give the player or their cult various bonuseslike increasing follower loyalty, immediately finishing various Cult tasks, and more.
During this limited time event, players can partake in the Blood Moon Ritual, which illuminates the dead for 3 days and allows the player to capture the ghosts of dead followers. The more spirits that are captured, the more base decorations that can be unlocked like a Blood Moon Tree, flowered skulls, and more. However, in order to first conjure the Blood Moon, players will need to harvest pumpkins.
Finally, the update adds three looks with variations to the already numerousCult of the Lambfollower typesas well as a new music track.
Start and End Time
Unfortunately, this isn’t a permanent addition to the game. The limited time event kicks off on October 24 and runs through November 10, giving fans a short window to unlock everything. However, this doesn’t appear to be the only seasonal event that Massive Monster is preparing as the studio did confirm it has plans to add more of these throughout the year with unique content.
