Carmen is an unassuming variant of the DA-8 Umbra assault rifle introduced inCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Libertythat actually has a lot going for it. The gun may seem like an ordinary Barghest AR, but it’s capable of ripping through targets like butter, even on the game’s hardest difficulty mode.
Unlike some other iconic weapons, getting this one is rather straightforward. All players need to do is finish a quest for a certain pair of NPCs inCyberpunk 2077if they want to get their hands on this deadly assault rifle.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: Carmen Iconic Assault Rifle Location
To get Carmen, players need to finish the Balls to the Wall quest in central Dogtown after completingthe first fewPhantom Libertyquests. This will be indicated on the map by a yellow exclamation point. Head to the Barghest camp in front of Hansen’s HQ in the middle of town, then look for Babs and Paco, two Barghest soldiers who have a lot on their plate.
Paco will try to chat players up and get them to listen to his stories. Accept his offers and make sure totake the Deep Dive inhalerswhenever he offers them. Doing so will cause V to vividly hallucinate, reliving Paco’s stories from the POV of Kurt Hansen. Finish the two Deep Dive encounters, and Paco will ask players for advice on what to do next.
At this point, players have three options:
Framing Yuri is the worst possible choice here. Not only will it make players miss out on getting Carmen for free, but it’ll also result in Paco’s death. Instead, either help the two soldiers escape from Dogtown or call in a favor from either Rogue, Panam, or River. It doesn’t matter who the favor is from — Paco and Babs will live, and they’ll leave Carmen in their tent as a present for V.
Carmen is a fast-firing assault rifle that has an increased crit chance against limbs. Additionally, it deals increased damage and causes bleeding whenever V is firing it while running, sliding, or jumping. It works well in any build, though it shines most if players invest perk points into the assault rifle and SMG skill branch of the Reflexes tree. The gun almost always lands critical hits, making it a great full-auto weapon for fans of the run-and-gun playstyle.
