A week ago, alongside the Solstice of Heroes 2021 update, Bungie re-introduceda total of 12 weapons that were previously sunset inDestiny 2, with nine of them being from Shadowkeep’s Moon and the remaining three being from Forsaken’s Dreaming City. Now that Bungie decided to put aside sunsetting gear and weapons, it appears that the company is making an effort to bring back popular items in a new guise. These reissuedDestiny 2weapons didn’t simply come with a few tweaks in their perk pool, but rather Bungie scrapped the whole perk pool the guns had in the past and completely changed what rolls they can come with.

Some of those weapons were especially popular in the past, precisely because of some of their god rolls. Guns like the sniper rifle Tranquility, which could roll excellent combinations like Firing Line and Field Prep. These perks are unfortunately gone for good, meaning that all those god rolls players stored over time suddenly became worthless. Thanks to sunsetting, those guns cannot be infused and brought on par with thecurrentDestiny 2seasonalPower Level cap. Regardless, while some of the reissued weapons are shells of their former selves, others have found new life thanks to the reworked perk pool, meaning there are new god rolls for players to get.

Tranquility

As mentioned above, this weapon lost so much with its reissued version that is currently a mediocre sniper rifle, to say the least. There are better sniper rifles to use than Tranquility in its current state, with options likeIzanagi’s Burdenand Praedyth’s Revenge for the kinetic slot. This weapon is generally not worth farming for.

Loud Lullaby

This hand cannon was very popular before it was sunset back in Season 12, but as thecurrentDestiny 2metastands, this gun has very little to offer. Loud Lullaby could previously drop with Drop Mag and awesome perks like Outlaw, Subsistence, Rampage, Multikill Clip, and more. However, with 120 RPM hand cannons now nerfed and the very poor new perk pool, this gun has just a couple decent rolls. The best combinations would be Tunnel Vision and Kill Clip for PvP and Surplus and Frenzy for PvE.

Dream Breaker

Thisfusion rifledidn’t lose nor gain much, as it was never really used much of anywhere inDestiny 2. The lack of Reservoir Burst makes it a bit unnecessary, even though it gained the option of rolling with a combination like Under Pressure and Cornered, but nothing else too fancy or particularly useful about it.

One Small Step

One Small Step was an amazing PvE shotgun back inShadowkeep, but unfortunately, its reissued version doesn’t live up to its legacy. The gun lost perks like Auto-Loading Holster, Threat Detector, One-Two Punch, and Rampage, only to gain subpar ones instead. Again like hand cannons, shotguns were nerfed, and there are much better options than One Small Step now in the game both for PVE and PVP. Players should look elsewhere for a shotgun fix inDestiny 2.

Every Waking Moment

This SMG had really nice perks in the past, but it still holds its own when compared to other Void SMGs likeShayura’s Wrath from Trials of Osiris. Every Waking Moment can now roll with stuff like Killing Wind, Heating Up, Ambitious Assassin, Multikill Clip, and Dragonfly. Rolls to look for are Ambitious Assassin and Multikill Clip combined with a reload Masterwork stat.

Arc Logic

Arc Logic is an auto rifle that was previously very powerful and sought after, being a 600 RPM gun dealing Arc damage. It had great perks in the past, and even though the newer ones are not all bad, the auto rifle saw better days. Rolls like Feeding Frenzy/Surrounded or Surplus/Frenzy aregood for PvE, and they can make up for the loss of Subsistence and Rampage, for example.

A Fine Memorial

A Fine Memorial is a nice machine gunto have right now, especially because it can roll Subsistence and One for All, gradually becoming a PvE grinding beast. This weapon doesn’t live up to other options in the Power slot, but it remains a good alternative for rarer weapons in Gambit, PvE content, and more.

Love and Death

Thisgrenade launcherwas very popular thanks to its Full Court roll, but the weapon did gain more than it lost overall. The new PvE god roll most likely is Clown Cartridge combined with Chain Reaction, and maybe Spike Grenades for Stability and damage. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have much to offer in PvP, but in PvE it remains more than good.

Night Terror

Lastly, the Night Terror sword came back much better than it left, despite the loss of a perk as strong as Whirlwind Blade. In fact, the sword can now either come with Surrounded, Vorpal Weapon, and One for All. These rolls are even better if combined with thesword’s decent base statsand the possibility to get Night Terror with an Impact Masterwork perk can make all the difference.

Tigerspite

This Dreaming City auto rifle was pretty good inForsaken, and perks like Triple Hit and Outlaw will dearly be missed. However, the gun gained plenty of great rolls to choose from, including Mulligan, Threat Detector, Subsistence, and Ambitious Assassin for the left column. On the right, perks like Demolitionist and Frenzy still make Tigerspite a good alternative to other similar guns, like Chroma Rush.

Twilight Oath

Twilight Oath is another sniper rifle, this time from theDreaming City, which did get a few decent rolls but still isn’t a new go-to choice for either PvE and PvP. This gun mainly gained Vorpal Weapon for boss DPS, and combining it with Surplus makes for a lethal combo that can deal massive amounts of damage.

Abide the Return

This sword is a big disappointment onBungie’s part because Whirlwind Blade was removed in favor of less-than-useful perks like Disruption Break, Flash-Counter, and Thresh. While these may not be all bad on their own, they don’t really work on swords, because they are meant to punish bigger and more menacing enemies in close combat. These rolls are more oriented towards the add-clearing process ofDestiny 2activities, meaning players should avoid farming for this weapon.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
