Summary
Destiny 2players notice a problem with the Dreaming City skybox as it loses a key visual detail when certain zones are loaded. With a constant stream of updates, additions, and changes, live service titles likeDestiny 2are susceptible to bugs and other unforeseen issues. In fact, Bungie’s popular online shooter has seen a variety of issues over the years, both large and small, and some that have even become full-fledged features. Recently, a bug which allowedDestiny 2players to summon their sparrow vehicles during Cruciblematches was eventually turned into a specific mode during the next season.
Unfortunately, there has also been a fair number of game-breaking issues that haven’t been so easy to fix. One issue in particular has taken the company quite a while to sort out as the complexbug surrounding Restoration has made certainDestiny 2Solar builds unusable. Picking up or interacting with sources like a Firesprite or Sunspot negatively impacts the Restoration timer. Bungie is preparing a fix between now and prior to The Final Shape expansion, but for the time being, there isn’t a definitive date yet. Alongside other remaining issues, it seems fans are still waiting on a fix for a visually odd glitch impacting The Dreaming City.

In a new thread on theDestiny 2subReddit, a user named Luke-HW posted a pair of screenshots taken from The Dreaming CIty showcasing a visual bug that wipes out the detail from the skybox when transitioning from Divalian Mists zone to the Spine of Keres. The first screenshot shows a skybox filled with details and swirling clouds, while the second, which crosses into a different zone, sees it removed entirely for something lacking that unique visual detail.
Others in the comments have noticed this as well, with some even indicating that these skybox issues extend to other locations like certain Ascendant Challenges which strange floating shapes and, on occassion, being able to see the rest of the map simply by looking up. Others have confirmed that this issue isn’t exactly new, arriving three years ago with the Beyond Light expansion afterBungie revealed that it was upgrading the Tiger Enginewith new lighting mechanics and other relit improvements to the engine. Obviously, some of these changes seemingly had a negative impact on certain zones, but as of now, it doesn’t seem like this is going to be fixed any time soon, if at all.
In addition to the above issues,Destiny 2players have noticed that thrown objects also have strange behavior. Specifically, the tracking on thrown objects like throwing knives, Celestial Fire, Titan hammers, and even energy orbs from The Corrupted strike, appear to warp around their intended targets, even when manually aimed correctly. Players have mentioned these tracking issues appears to come with an update during The Dawning, as the snowballs also seemed to avoid enemies once thrown.
