Bungie may be working on an all-new Raid gear refresh forDestiny 2, according to an offhand comment in one of its recent blog posts. As Season 21 draws closer, the developer has begun releasing a whole wealth of valuable information about what the next step for the game might be, with the studio’s planned weapon updates being the latest highlight.
Though it’s all but certain that the Season of the Deep will be a major new step forward forDestiny 2, Bungie’s promotional push isn’t very likely to focus on old features and content to a substantial extent. Reprised items, for one, haven’t been mentioned yet, and though there have been murmurs of a Raid reprise of some sort, Bungie has been quiet on that front so far.

However, a single cheeky line of text featured in the latestDestiny 2Season 21 weapon tuning blogsuggests that something big may be happening at last. While the blog was used to share many changes slated for Season of the Deep, one specific line stands out due to its reference to the old Last Wish combat bow, the Tyranny of Heaven. According to Bungie, the bow’s stats have always been strangely low compared to other bows, so it’s getting a bump since the devs “were touching these weapons anyway.” The term “these weapons” likely refers to the Last Wish’s roster of unique crystal-carved Awoken weapons, meaning that an update of some sort may be slated for Season 21.
Though the Last Wish is often overlooked by the player base due to it featuring one of themost difficult boss fights inDestiny 2, this particular Raid is a hugely important piece of content and a highlight of the oldForsakenDLC. An update to its gear drops is very much needed, and bringing its weapons up to par to the latest new gear with Origin Traits and the like is sure to get players interested in running it.
If Bungie’s hint at a Last Wish weapon refresh ends up coming to fruition, it’s exceedingly likely that they’d end up being craftable too. This would mean that the list ofmust-have craftable weapons inDestiny 2would effectively balloon, as Last Wish has always had a number of interesting loot drops. The only reason they stopped being relevant lately is that they’ve been power-crept by newer gear.
Of course, there’s one more thing that makes Last Wish special: the Wish Wall.Destiny 2’s Wish Wall featureallows players to input specific codes while playing the Last Wish raid, each with a unique effect. The notable bit is that some of them lead straight to Last Wish’s secret weapon chests, which could prove particularly handy for red-border farming.
Destiny 2is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
