He used it to destroy all of Gallifrey, the Daleks, and the Time Lords so that the war would finally stop, and the universe would be saved.The Day of the Doctoraltered these events so that all 13 iterations of the Doctor at the time actually saved Gallifrey in a moment of time while destroying the Daleks, but every doctor before the eleventh would not remember this due to the timeline being out of sync.
A Doctor Who Video Game Could Do it Justice
The Time War was massive and destructive, and viewers want to see more of it. It was a major part of most of the modernDoctor Who, but it has barely been shown off. WhileRussell T. Davies may have plansto explore it again with the next Doctor, a video game may be better suited for it. It could actually showcase the sheer size of this war and give fans a chance to experience it first hand.
Doctor Whois all about a mad man in a box traveling through the stars, but underneath the surface is this dark past when the Doctor was no longer the Doctor. It is one of the most interesting periods intheDoctor Whomythos, and many fans are clamoring to see it fully realized. It is filled with stories just waiting to be told, and a developer could run wild with the depiction of these events, It would be very different from everyDoctor Whogame that came before, and could serve as a fantastic darker companion piece to the more lighthearted show.
