The flamboyant Twitter personalityDr DisRespectrecently had a bit of an outburst when a viewer recommended he try playing with a controller to combat lag inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. The streamer vented his frustrations to both his viewers and his streaming partner after the action.
For those that haven’t spent a ton of time onCall of Duty: Modern Warfarelately, many have been complaining about lag, stuttering, and similar issues on the online servers. This particularly affects streamers like Dr. DisRespect because this is their profession, and they rely on these games for their income.

After a series ofdeaths and other mishaps caused by lag, Dr DisRespect received a comment from one of his viewers suggesting he attempt to play with a controller, and although this comment was no doubt made with the best of intentions, it seemed to set Dr DisRespect off, pushing him over the edge and resulting in the chat being closed.
When asked why this bothered him so much, Dr DisRespect explained that many people seem to think that the use of a controller as opposed to amouse and keyboard causes lag issues, when in reality the lag issues did not start when he purchased the mouse and keyboard he is currently using, but instead have been a more recent issue. After explaining this, Dr DisRespect’s streaming partner echoes his frustration, saying “are they still going on about that?”
Although server issues and lag are always prevalent in online games such as this, it is possible that some amount of it iscaused by the Coronavirus. With more people staying at home now than ever before, the amount of people playing video games has reached an all-time high. As a result, online servers are somewhat overloaded, with many video sharing websites such as YouTube and streaming services even opting to lower resolution in an effort to minimize strain on the network. Still, Dr DisRespect’s grievances are understandable, as many others have struggled with the same issues and, as he puts it, he is trying to put on a show.
This sort of thing isn’t out of the ordinary for this streamer, as his over the top personality and reactions are a major part of his branding. Dr DisRespect even went on to say that having all thechats closed downfelt liberating, and he continued to play the game after the incident.
