1Aalto
Mistcloak Strike
The mysterious and friendly Information Broker, Aalto is a 4-star Aero Congenital Resonator. Primarily acting as a taunter, he’s a solid 4-Star sub-DPS who can also support his fellow Aero DPS units nicely, or who can even act as a decent on-field DPS himself as long as players unlock more of his Sequence Nodes.
2Baizhi
Healing You’tan
As a 4-star Glacio Mutant Resonator, Baizhi’s main role in-game isto provide healing to players- powers provided to her by her strange, white Remnant Creature companion, You’tan. This elegant and mysterious healer can be gained at no cost after unlocking the ability to Convene, as spending one Lustrous Tide on the Tidal Chorus banner will net players a Baizhi for free. Baizhi is a very solid free healer who can buff and heal allies. Plus, after getting her fifth Node, she can even revive downed enemies back to full health if they fall during battle.
3Calcharo
Phantom Hunters
Calcharo is a powerful and mysterious 5-star Natural Resonator mercenary, dealing powerful Electro damage to enemies. He’s the definition of a high-risk, high-reward playstyle, matching his character well, as he can do massive amounts of damage in short periods - as long as playerscan time his combos well enough. He also pairs nicely with a range of characters, though he does best with a team that can support him as a main DPS.
4Chixia
Gallant Blaze
Chixia is a 4-star Fusion Mutant Resonator and an especially friendly face the player meets at the very start ofWuthering Waves, and she provides some much-needed levityto an amnesiac Roverwhile navigating the beginning of the game. She automatically joins the party after the player reaches Jinzhou, making her a decent option for brand-new players.
As expected from a free early-game unit, Chixia is very easy to play with a straightforward kit, and she can fit into a DPS or sub-DPS role quite easily. In the mid-to-late game, she begins to struggle against bosses and needs more precise dodging and repositioning, but she’s still a good option against groups of enemies.

5Danjin
Scarlet Shade
Danjin is a 4-star Havoc Mutant Resonator and a member of the Midnight Rangers alongside Jiyan. Just like Jiyan, she’s surprisingly powerful for only being a 4-star unit and is a unit that will be reliable through the end-game thanks to her strong damage output and her ability to heal herself despite her HP-stealing kit. While she can fit easily into being a Support for other Havoc units or a sub-DPS for stronger DPS units, she can also be played as a main DPS by skilled players who can manage her HP effectively.
6Encore
Wooly-Counting Game
Encore is an adorable 5-star Fusion Resonator who uses her two woolly sheep dolls, Cloudy and Cosmos, to help her attack her enemies and deal large amounts of Ultimate damage whenever she loses control of them. Encore is a great character thanks to her simple playstyle and easy combos, making her great for players who might pull her at the start of the game.
7Jianxin
Cleansing Reflections
Jianxin is a 5-star Aero Natural Resonator, martial arts master, and fantastic all-rounder that can be gained early intoWuthering Wavesthanks to the free 5-star chooser players get to use. She’s anothergreat choice for newer or less experienced playerswho aren’t as adept at dodging thanks to her ability to auto-parry, shield, negate damage, and deal a good amount of damage. That being said, some limitations in her kit keep her from being as good later in the game.
8Jiyan
Windborne Rider
Already one of the most broken charactersWuthering Waveshas to offer, General Jiyan of the Midnight Rangers is an Aero Mutant Resonator who offers massive amounts of damage thanks to his Qingloong Mode attack. He can group enemies and deal powerful AOE attacks, making him fantastic against mobs, and he’s pretty easy to build and use, too. He’s a definite must-pull for anyone who wants to clear content quickly and easily.
9Lingyang
Frosty Gusto
Lingyang is aWuthering Wavescharacter with a unique playstyle inspired by the traditional Chinese Lion Dance. He’s a 5-star Glacio Resonator and a beloved member of Jinzhou’s Lion Dance Troupe with the ability to automatically dodge attacks while in the Striding Lion state. However, he struggles a little as a DPS due to his single-target focus and his lack of HP and DEF compared to other 5-star characters, making him slightly frustrating to play. However, with time, effort, and the right build, Lingyang can really pay off.
10Mortefi
Dragon’s Breath
The Department of Safety head at Huaxu Academy, Mortefi is a 4-star Mutant Fusion Resonator. He works best as a sub-DPS to support other, stronger DPS units, and he buffs Heavy Attacks very nicely. However, unlocking more Nodes will make him even stronger and easier to play with, and players may struggle a bit with his energy-greedy Resonance Liberation cost.
