A close Morgott, The Omen King fight attempt ends in heartbreak as theElden Ringplayer dies just before they could kill the difficult boss. There are many difficult boss fights inElden Ring, from the first Crucible Knight to Malenia, Blade of Miquella, a boss so difficult somehigh level players have taken hundreds of deaths to defeat her. As players fight these bosses, they come to understand them and their move sets more, eventually being able to take them down with enough time and skill. But there will be those times when a player is just about to kill the boss, and it ends in failure.

Morgott, The Omen King is a demigod boss fought at the end of the player’s first run through Leyndell, Royal Capital, and the true identity of Margit, The Fell Omen. Margit is most likely the first major boss players will fight with a difficult boss fight involving slow, heavy-hitting attacks combined with fast moves and ranged attacks, which has thustaken some players sinceElden Ring’s release to defeat Margit. Morgott, The Omen King himself is much the same, but with extreme mobility, making him even harder to hit and thus harder to defeat.

This is what happened to one player who had a heartbreaking loss when going up againstElden Ring’s Morgott, The Omen King. Posting to r/Eldenring, user Potential-Eye1750 uploaded a video of the end of their fight with the boss. In the video, Morgott’s health is barely visible but manages over time to whittle down the player’s health, with the player being a bit greedy with their attacks. Despite being only one hit away from death, Morgott’s finesse manages to get him to avoid all the player’s attacks, before dealing a ranged attack that kills the player, leaving them with a heartbreaking defeat similar toone player’s encounter with the Flame Giant.

In the comments, many try to offer advice for the player, including keeping consumables weapons on them to quickly finish off the boss in case of situations like this occur. InElden Ring, it does seem like consumable weapons aren’t as well utilized as they could be. They offer a whole new angle to approach fights, with some even managing tobeat Malenia with only consumables.

InElden Ring, it can be tough when coming back from such a devastating loss. However, it’s losses like these that allow the player to learn and make up for the mistakes made. Taking the boss down to that much health means that the player can most likely take down the boss if they are a bit more careful with the way they fight them, and resist the urge to get in some greedy hits, lest it leads to death.

Elden Ringis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
