With the coronavirus predicted to hit its peak this month (and hopefully so), many gamers have spent a little extra time with their console of choice. Sony has made sure to give its fans plenty of choices to help stay home during this time, although some are standard operating procedure while others are for this reason specifically. EnterSony’s PS4 ‘Play at Home’ Initiative.
Alongside the standardPS Plus games for April 2020, fans with the proper knowhow can also get three more games in conjunction with these for a whopping 5 games for free this month. It actually feels more like 7 free games given that one is a collection and conjoined into a complete series for free this month, but for those who may have let one or two slip into the crack, here’s every PS4 game fans can get for free this month.

Free PS Plus Games for April 2020
It should be noted thatUncharted 4: A Thief’s Endhad to be a deliberate decision (or vice versa, given the Play at Home initiative). Its inclusion here means that those new to the series or those wanting to reliveNathan Drake’s epic world-spanning adventure can do so from the comfort of their own home, from beginning to end.
DiRT Rally 2.0, on the other hand, will give players the gritty experience of being behind the wheels of an absolute machine. In ourDiRT Rally 2.0review, we noted that the game “will check off all the right boxes for those who have been fans of the series thus far. It offers plenty of compelling modes, new challenges, and its weather system helps give the courses a lot of character,” but that it continues to repeat the sins of the past.

Sony’s Play at Home Initiative
On top of the PS Plus Games for April 2020, the Play at Home Initiative offers two more up,Uncharted: The Nathan Drake CollectionandJourney. The latter is a real sleeper hit that’s easy to miss but is well worth the time and investment players spend on it now or later down the road. Journey features an awe-inspiring world and detail, simply earning its 92 Metacritic rating as a small, reasonable download that’ll let 2 play together online.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collectionwas featured on PS Plus not too long ago, but the best part here is that these games are free without the subscription. They’re also for keeps, forever, even if an existing subscription runs out. On top of that is the fact thatUncharted: The Nathan Drake Collectionis just that: a collection. It featuresDrake’s Fortune,Among Thieves, andDrake’s Deception, giving players everything they need to stay home and travel the world at the same time. Technically speaking, the inclusion of this collection means that there’s 7 free games up for grabs this month.

How to Get Knack 2 for Free
Unlike the former options,Knack 2requires a little trick to get for free, but even then, free’s free. The initial game had a mixed reaction but was vital in the kick off of the PS4, andKnack 2seemingly delivers where it failed.
Knack 2is up for grabs as part of the European version of the Play at Home initiative, specifically in Germany. Since no PS Plus is required as part of this initiative, PS4 fans just need to create a German PSN account and download it for free. The players will need to keep the account around to play the game, but that’s not really a big deal given the circumstances. Luckily, the language settings can be changed in the game’s menu as well, to change it from German to English (or whatever the preferred language is).
All in all, it appears Sony is doing its part in flattening the curve, and hopefully this is all over sooner rather than later. Whenever that’s the case, if not before, fans will hopefully finally be able to get their hands on thelong-awaitedThe Last of Us 2.
