Summary
A new clip fromFallout 4highlights the strength of the Tesla Cannon, one of the game’s many weapons. The clip displays both the weapon’s power and its tendency to set off a classicFallout 4physics interaction, much to the amusement of the game’s player community.
Despite being almost nine years old,Fallout 4continues to attract players thanks to the size of its game world and the ease with which the community has generated hundreds, if not thousands, of mods for it. Even Bethesda recognized the potential of mods for extending the life of a game, as it eventually debuted the Creation Club, a system through which selected modders could create new, Bethesda-endorsed content for the game and sell it as DLC. Though not without controversy and issues of its own,Creation Club content was a modest success for the games it appeared in. Bethesda recently added some Creation Club content for free in theFallout 4Next Gen update, which was designed to increase the game’s compatibility with modern platforms like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

In fact, one of the Creation Club pieces added to the game with theFallout 4Next Gen update was the very one that added the Tesla Cannon in the first place. The Tesla Cannon originally debuted in theFallout 3Broken SteelDLC, and became one of thebestFallout 3energy weapons. It wasn’t part of the baseFallout 4arsenal, but new clips from players trying it out are proving its potency.
Fallout 4 Tesla Cannon Sends An Enemy Flying
The clip comes courtesy of Mr_Kitford, a player on theFallout 4subreddit. In the clip, Mr. Kitford’s character uses a fully charged Tesla Cannon on a soldier belonging to theFallout 4Gunner faction. Thoughthe Gunners populate some of the hardest encounters inFallout 4, the lone Gunner Corporal was no match for the concentrated firepower of the cannon being amplified further by a critical strike. The blast sent the Corporal flying high into the sky, never to be seen again.
The clip amused fellowFallout 4players, with some referencing the wayPokemonanime villains Team Rocketare constantly blasted away in similar fashion. Others recalled a similar physics interaction fromSkyrim, where attacking Giants had a chance to send players, creatures, and anything else they hit into the stratosphere. Mr_Kitford admitted that they had yet to replicate the glitch themselves, despite using the Tesla Cannon extensively since then.
