Summary

AFallout 4clip shows an interaction between a player and a Mr. Gutsy robot that resulted in the latter exploding. There are many robotic NPCs inFallout 4’s open world, and the Mr. Gutsy units that players may encounter offer a unique option for players specializing in the luck perk.

Dialogue has always been a key part of theFalloutgames, with Bethesda continuing this legacy withFallout 4. Some perks can fuel unique choices in conversations withFallout 4NPCs, resulting in some unexpected moments. These perk-based decisions add replayability toFallout 4as a player may choose to follow a different string of perks than in their last exploration through Boston. ThisFallout 4player has found a particularly hilarious selection when interacting with a Mr. Gutsy robot in their playthrough.

Reddit user RogerRoger63358 recently shared a clip of their experiences inFallout 4in which they’re exploring Boston. Entering a tunnel with a Mr. Gutsy unit recommending that they return home, theFallout 4player approaches it and starts a conversation. With unmoddedFallout 4chat prompts, RogerRoger63358 selects the pointless response to Mr. Gutsy’s curfew orders. After theFallout 4player tells Mr. Gutsy that the war is over, the robot insists that the curfew be followed and asks them to comply. RogerRoger63358 then chooses the “will you comply” option four times which causes the robot to detect a loop and self-destruct.

The dialogue choice RogerRoger63358 utilized with Mr. Gutsy relies on the luck perk instead of charisma.Fallout 4luck is required because the character is attempting to stick the robot in a loop, not convince it of something. Mr. Gutsy is a combat variant of the Mister Handy robot that is introduced early in aFallout 4adventure. Mr. Gutsy has various monickers like Gunner, Guard, or Major, but each includes the same last name. Because Mr. Gutsy can be found in various locations aroundFallout 4and its Nuka-World DLC, players may create the same sequence in several areas in the Bethesda RPG. Unlike the conversation that causes Mr. Gutsy’s self-destruction, the robot may disregardtheFallout 4sole survivorif its orders are followed or conclude that the player is unlikely an infiltrator.

While the dialogue resulted in Mr. Gutsy’s explosion, therobot did suggest that the player repeat its words, an order that was followed. Although RogerRoger63358 was able to do this Mr. Gutsy trick for their video, it’s currently unclear if every Mr. Gutsy inFallout 4’s Bostoncan be destroyed in the same manner.

Fallout 4is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
