Summary
Many fans of thePokemonfranchise are excited about a potential sequel toPokemon Legends: Arceus, with one artistic fan of the series designing their own Forretress variant which they envision would fit well into a potentialPokemon Legendsgame in the future. Many fans have recently began sharing similar creature designs of their own themed around the Johto region itself, as popular rumors have left many fans of the franchise hopeful that a newPokemongame set in the Johto region will be announced in the near future.
Such rumors have been quite widespread throughout recent months, with many fans left speculating that some of the next games in thePokemonfranchise will take players back to the fan-favorite Johto and Unova regionsseen in past generations. Enthusiasts ofPokemon Legends: Arceusare also hopeful that a game revisiting the Johto region could come in the form of a newPokemon Legendsgame, which would grant a whole new perspective on this classic location and potentially dig deeper into the lore introduced in the original Gen 2 games. Like withPokemon Legends: Arceus, a new Johto-based game could potentially introduce a variety of new alternate forms for popular Gen 2 Pokemon as well.

Forretress Legends Form
With this in mind, many creative fans have taken matters into their own hands by sharinga plethora of Johto and Hisui-inspired Pokemon designsof their own. One fan known online as JJonnie has shown off one design featuring what they think a new Forretress form could look like in a newPokemon Legendstitle. This variant flaunts a Grass and Bug-typing rather than the original Forretress' Bug and Steel-type, and while the removal of its Steel-type would likely leave it more vulnerable in practice, it does pave the way for an entirely different stat distribution and even the possibility of unique new moves. The Pokemon’s adorable conceptual design clearly takes inspiration from traditional Johto architecture.
ThoughPokemon Legends: Arceus' Hisui region featured a considerably different ecosystem of Pokemon compared to the Sinnoh region of the modern age,Legends: Arceusdid include a few new evolutions and new formsfor existing Pokemon seen throughout the series. Though the originalGold and Silvergames were responsible for introducing many Pokemon that have remained popular across the decades such as Espeon and Steelix, a potential newPokemon Legendsgame could feature new forms for more recent Pokemon as well.

While it’s still not certain what lies ahead for thePokemonfranchise, rumors of new titles andpossible remakes of thePokemon Black and Whitegameshas left plenty of solid possibilities on the table of what to expect in 2024. The viability of the many circulating rumors will soon be seen though, as fans have only a few weeks to wait until Pokemon Day when the next big game announcements are expected to be made.
