While it’s well known that there is a newFantastic Fourmovie coming to the MCU at some point, there still aren’t a ton of details out there for public consumption. However, a new leak might have shed quite a few little tidbits, including the possibility that Marvel Studios has zeroed in on Penn Badgley to play Reed Richards.
News of the newFantastic Fourmovie has been known for quite a while now and there was a time when people thought that John Krasinski could be the new face of that particular franchise. Krasinski did makean appearance as Richards inDoctor Strange 2, but it appears that was more intended to be a bit of fan service rather than confirmation he would be playing Mr. Fantastic moving forward.

A new leak seems to confirm that Marvel Studios is moving on from the actor and director in order to wipe the slate clean and truly start fresh with a new Reed Richards. A new leak posted byFel_Ibiapinaon Reddit indicates that instead ofKrasinski taking on the role of Reed Richards, it will be none other thanYoustar Badgley. Granted this particular rumor should be taken with a grain of salt and subsequent talk made it clear that he hasn’t been signed to the role yet, but Marvel Studios is zeroing in on him to take on the lead role inFantastic Four.
The same set of leaks shed some light on other rumors that have been floating around the upcoming movie, including the fact that Kevin Feige still hasn’t found a replacement for Jon Watts. That also means that rumors that Bryce Dallas Howard was attached were false and it’s not clear if she’s even being considered at this point. It also appears the talk of Howard Stern somehow taking onthe role of Doctor Doomwas just talk, as the new spate of rumors claims that Marvel Studios is looking at Simon Baker to be the “Big Bad.” However, at this point, no actors have officially joined the cast, so there are some things that could change before theFantastic Fourmovie really ramps up and starts production.
That doesn’t mean that every bit of info about the upcomingFantastic Fourmovie is just rumor and innuendo.Moon Knightscribe Jeremy Slater spilled the beans a few months ago that producers for the Disney Plus series werealso working on theFantastic Fourmovie. It would seem that as production really starts ramping up, some of these rumors will be proved or disproved in the near future.
