Forspokenis one of the most anticipated games of 2022, with many fans eagerly awaiting the chance to play the magic-based RPG being developed by Luminous Productions. The game revolves around protagonist Frey, who is transported to the world of Athia where she discovers that she has magical abilities. She very soon discovers that Athia has been affected by a magical event that is corrupting all the residents of this world, including their once-benevolent rulers, known as the Tantas. These matriarchs serve as the main antagonist group inForspoken.
The gameplay reveal trailer forForspokengave fans a glimpse at the Tantas and how they seem to use their magic to control the people of Athia. However, the Tantas have not always been the cruel rulers that they have now turned into; the infectious magic that is corrupting the world has also infected the Tantas and polluted them with newfound power. Frey will be combating these rulers tosave Athia and hopefully cure them of the infecting magic, returning them to the beloved rulers they once were.

The Tantas and The Break
The corruption bleeding into Athia is caused by an event known as The Break that has not only changed the inhabitants but also the landscape. As thiscorruption continues to find its way around Athia, it will be up to Frey to find some way of stopping it and getting the land back to normal. The Break is responsible for all the evil that now spreads through Athia, including the corruption of the land’s once-great rulers, now known as the Tantas.
The Tantas rule over Athia with a twisted sense of justice and power, often associating themselves with a single virtue. The rulers control different realms of Athia, each with a different type of corruption from the Break. Inthe story trailer, fans got a glimpse at the mighty Tanta Sila’spower as she ruthlessly beats down Frey with her magic, breaking Frey’s magical barrier and knocking her to the ground.
Tanta Sila and Tanta Prav
The story and gameplay reveal trailers forForspokengave fans a look into two of the Tantas that Frey will be coming up against in the game: the Tanta of Strength, Tanta Sila, and the Tanta of Justice, Tanta Prav. Both characters possess immense power and will act as bosses forfans to defeat as they strive to freeForspoken’s Athia from the corruption. Tanta Sila, once the commander of Athia’s armies who was sworn to protect Athia from all threats, now has turned into the greatest threat to the people of the land she rules over.
Each virtue assigned to the Tantas seems to speak a lot about their methods and motivations, as well as their role in Athia before they were corrupted by The Break. Prior to her corruption, Tanta Prav watched over the judicial system, and following her descent into darkness, she now uses her own twisted sense of judgment to punish people around Athia. She rules over the realm of Avoalet which has been overrun by the corrupted fauna and will likely be one ofthe first Tantas that Frey will fight against.
The Tantas will play an important role inForspoken, not only as villains but also as reflections of people that Frey knew in her own world. Their corrupted sense of control and power has allowed them to become the most powerful force in Athia, and one that Frey will need to stop to end the Break. As sorceresses, they will possess tremendous magical abilities, as seen in the trailer, andaccording to theForspokenPEGI rating, they will likely play mind games with Frey, with one of them even potentially attempting to convince Frey that her only release from sadness is suicide. There will likely be many more Tantas than these two, and their twisted powers will certainly prove to be the toughest challenge that both players and Frey come up against inForspoken.
