Fortnitehas had a long history with crossovers. Beginning all the way back in May 2018, the very firstFortnitecrossover was theAvengers Infinity Warlimited-time event inFortniteChapter 1 Season 4. Coming out of the gate swinging, this first event wasn’t just a handful of paid cosmetics, but a full limited-time event that saw playersfind the Infinity Gauntlet and become Thanos. In the years that have followed,Fortnitehas had over 160 crossovers and collaborations, and while not all of them have been fully-fledged events, they all show just how influentialFortnitehas become.
But there’s one franchise, aside fromMarvel and DC, that’s seen moreFortnitecrossovers than most, and that’sStar Wars. Being one of the biggest franchises on the planet for almost 50 years, it’s only natural thatFortnitewould want to collaborate withStar Warsas much as it possibly can. But while the last fewFortnitexStar Warscrossovers have been impressive, this latestClone Wars-inspired event really goes above and beyond.

Fortnite’s Latest Star Wars Crossover Shows The Best of Both Franchises
There’s been quite a long history ofFortnitexStar Warscrossovers. The very firstFortnitexStar Warscrossover event took place all the way back in December 2019, duringFortniteChapter 2 Season 1. This first event saw an exclusive teaser forStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalkerplay in the in-game cinema Risky Reels. At the same time, players could purchase cosmetics based on the movie’s main cast and briefly wield Lightsabers and E-11 Blasters in the standard Battle Royale mode. InFortniteChapter 2 Season 5, in March 2021,Fortnitewould receive anotherStar Warscrossover, this time letting players unlock a skin based on the wildly successfulDisney+ show,The Mandalorian.
In the last few years, another handful ofStar Warsskins have come toFortnite, mostly as limited-time paid cosmetics via the game’s Item Shop. When Disney+‘sObi-Wan Kenobishow aired,Fortnitereleased a tie-in event that brought back Lightsabers and E-11 Blasters for a limited time. While these crossover events have been fun, they’ve tended to lose their luster after just a few play sessions, as though the Lightsabers and Blasters are fun to use, they get stale quite quickly. Thankfully,Fortnite’s latestStar Warscrossover event shakes things up perfectly.
Just added to the game,Fortnite’s currentStar Warscrossover event swaps out the sequel and original trilogy-era aesthetics of previous events for aClone Wars-inspired overhaul. Rather than finding Stormtrooper camps, players now stumble upon Clone Troopers patrolling the island, and rather than E-11s, players can now find DC-15 Blasters.Fortnite’s latestStar Warsevent also makes lightsaber-hunting a much more active task, with the player needing to seek out Force Tears across the map, controlled by Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Darth Maul. Each of these Force Tears will reward players with a different color lightsaber, and a unique Force ability, including Force Push, Force Pull, and Force Throw. Holding a lightsaber will also give players access to a new Force double-jump, and increased sprint speed.
On top of all of those new and overhauled mechanics,Fortnite’s currentStar Warsevent also boasts its own unique mini Battle Pass. In a similar vein to theDragonballcrossover event, players can unlock a series of free, uniqueStar Warscosmetics by completing specific objectives, with the ultimate reward being a free Clone Trooper skin. But for just 1000 V-Bucks, players can upgrade thisStar Warsmini Battle Passto a premium one, immediately unlocking an exclusive Coruscant Guard Clone Trooper skin, and giving the player access to a handful of Darth Maul-themed rewards, including a final skin based on the Sith Lord himself. As far asFortnitecrossovers go, thisStar Warsevent may be one of the best in the game’s long history, and striking while the iron hot withStar Wars Jedi: Survivor’s recent release is a stroke of pure genius on both franchises’ parts.
Fortniteis available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
