Call of Duty: Warzonehas been dealing with several bugs in recent weeks, many of which are severe. Unfortunately, a new issue tied to the iconicCall of Duty: WarzoneGulag is no different, as it sees players spawning with invisible weaponry.
TheCaldera Gulaghas the same premise as the older iterations of the arena, as it has two eliminated players face off in a one-on-one battle to earn themselves a respawn. Unfortunately, the new Gulag has problems, something that it has in common with the older versions. Despite being one of the most unique features about the battle royale game,Call of Duty: Warzone’s Gulag has been invaded by ghosts, poison gas, and visual bugs. Now, players in the arena are dealing with concealed guns.

ACall of Duty: Warzoneclipfrom Reddit user JoTHauMm1 shows the invisible gun problem clearly, and it is just as annoying as it sounds. The clip begins with the countdown timer used to signify the start of a Gulag round. However, the Redditor’s weapon does not load in during the countdown sequence, and it is not ready once the timer ticks to 0 either. The player does have crosshairs on their screen, though, indicating that a gun is in their hands but entirely invisible. Obviously, this puts them at a major disadvantage.
While theCall of Duty: Warzoneplayerattempts to fight, this does not go well for them, as they are gunned down as soon as they turn the corner. Not seeing their weapon clearly threw them off, and it is hard to blame them. However, it would have been interesting if they had been victorious in the fight, as the Gulag now allows respawning players to keep the gun they won with in the arena. As such, the player may have respawned into Caldera with a completely invisible weapon.
With the enemy being able to see their gun just fine, the Redditor has every right to be angry with thisCall of Duty: Warzoneissue. As for the cause, the player theorizes that the console versions of the game are to blame. With many already pushing for atrue next-gen version ofCall of Duty: Warzone, clips like this one will likely make the calls louder. If outdated technology is truly the reason for the bug, then the quicker rendering that the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions would surely have could make a difference.
Considering that this could also be aCall of Duty: Warzonebuginstead of a rendering issue, hopefully Raven Software is made aware of the problem. For now, though, it seems like players entering the Gulag will just have to hope that their gun loads in properly.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
