AGenshin Impactplayer has pointed out that a description for a popular artifact set could be hinting at future expansions for the Liyue region. The game’s world consists of seven different nations that are spread all over the world of Teyvat. Each region in the game is inspired by a real-life location and Liyue is based on Chinese culture which is one of the reasons why it always hosts the annual Lantern Rite festival that celebrates the Chinese New Year.
So farGenshin Impacthas introduced only four of these regions: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and the most recently revealed land of Sumeru. Even though Mondstadt and Liyue have been part of the game since 2020, the two regions have still some missing parts which are expected to arrive in the future.

A post by Reddit user LuosEsrever0 onGenshin Impact’s official subreddit shows an interesting detail in the Symbol of Felicitation artifact piece description. This piece is part of the Echoes of an Offering set which can be farmed in the Lost Valley domain. The description mentions another port, Yilong Port, which is not present on the current map of Liyue. This means thatfutureGenshin Impactexpansionsof this region will most likely include another port besides Liyue Harbor, which is also the central point of this region’s action.
While there is still no official information about its exact location, players suspect that it’s placed south of the current Liyue Harbor on the undiscovered part of the map that is facing the islands of Inazuma. Others think that it could be placed in the western part of the region, which means that it could be connected to other nations. Recent rumors have been hinting that another major region, named Fontaine, will be connected to that part of Liyue.
The fact thatFontaine is known as the Hydro regionled many players to believe that it will be covered by a lot of water, which would explain the need for another port. There is a chance that HoYoverse introduces a new part of Liyue before Fontaine arrives just like they did with Chasm and Sumeru.
There are not a lot of details about Fontaine other than that it’s home to the Hydro Archon whose identity is still fairly unknown. In fact, recent leaks have revealed thatthere will be two Archons in this region, both of whom are based on characters from HoYoverse’s second most popular title,Honkai Impact 3rd.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
