Genshin Impacthas officially confirmed the two new characters that will join the playable roster in the upcoming version 3.5. The addition of a new character is the main focus of each update as they are the game’s main source of revenue. Developer HoYoverse has introduced an interesting pattern of introducing one five-star and one four-star character with every new update.

Even thoughGenshin Impactversion 3.4 has not even arrived yet, developer HoYoverse revealed that Dehya and Mika will arrive in 3.5. While Dehya is rumored to be a five-star character, Mika will apparently have a lower four-star rarity. This means that players can expect both characters to arrive on the same banner.

Genshin Impact’s official social media accounts have finally confirmed that Dehya and Mika will soon become part of the playable roster. Dehya has made multiple appearances in the official Sumeru storyline where she is introduced as a skillful mercenary of the Eremites, also known as Flame-Mane. She was previously confirmed to be a claymore character who can control the Pyro element. According topreviousGenshin Impactleaks, her Elemental Skill will deal damage even when she’s not on the field which could make her a good sub-DPS or support character. However, credible leakers have been hinting that Dehya’s primary role will probably be main DPS.

Dehya’s Elemental Burst will apparently allow her to dash all over the field dealing Pyro damage in the process, and it will also change the effect of her Elemental Skill. Dehya will be the first Pyro character to arrive to the game afterThoma who was part ofGenshin Impactupdate 2.2which arrived back in November 2021. Even though Pyro was once considered the strongest element in the game, the releases of more complex characters have pushed the element out of the meta.

The second character, Mika Schmidt, was officially revealed during the live stream event forGenshin Impactupdate 3.1. He also played an important role in the Of Ballads and Brews event which was held in the Mondstadt region. The splash art officially confirmed previousrumors claiming that Mika will be using the Cryo element.

Mika’s kit will apparently revolve around having unnatural strength, but these rumors should still be taken with a grain of salt and players will have to wait for the upcoming 3.5 beta phase to see his skills. The fact that he is from the City of Freedom led many players to believe that the story could head back to its first region. Credible leakers have revealed thatMondstadt could receive its first expansion in the upcoming months.

Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
