Halo: Master Chief Collectionhas been consistently updated with fresh content since it launched. In more recent years, the game has received additions like new armor sets and maps, expanding on the content that was featured in theHalosagainitially. However, that content has largely been geared towards Spartans, the human super soldiers that are iconic to the franchise. Luckily for fans of Elites, that’s changing soon.
According to a post made over on the Halo Waypoint blog,Halo: MCC’sSeason 7 will feature new armor sets for the Elites, otherwise known asSangheili, to don in multiplayer matches. This isn’t just one or two new additions to the armor offerings, either. Instead, players will be getting access to an impressive seven sets in total, called Keepward, Accord, General, Seneschal, Scion, Ossoona, and Artisan.

In the blog post,343 Industriesshared images of each of the sets along with brief snippets about the lore behind them. In the past, there have been complaints from fans that new armor sets feel out of place with the games they’re being added to. These armors, however, look pretty in-line with the general design of the Elites found throughout the series, particularly the more recent entries. However, 343 Industries didn’t specifically state which game the armor sets are being added to.

Accord
Scion
The best guess so far isHalo 3,though the only indication of that is a line in the blog post that states that new Energy Sword skins are coming toHalo 3,so that’s not for sure. Recently, the scale has certainly tipped towards newHalo 3content, becoming something of a point of contention for fans. One can hope that the skins are being shared across the available games.
Of note, 343 Industries did state that not all of this content is guaranteed to make the cut, so some of the armor sets may be excluded from the final version. It’s an impressive number of gear sets, so even if a few don’t make it into the final game fans should be relatively satiated. Theseasonal structure inHalo: Master Chief Collectionlets players earn gear fairly rapidly, too, so consistent players should be able to unlock the sets in no time.

The Elite armor sets are an indication that 343 Industries is listening to the player base. While not all wishes are likely to be granted, balancing the types of content that players with the intended direction of the game is an important piece of the puzzle.
Halo: Master Chief Collectionis available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
