Merely days after its release,Hi-Fi Rushhas already outperformedForspokenin Steam sales this week. Although launched with barely any promotional campaign, the latest title from Bethesda’sTango Gameworkshas found critical reception from both critics and gamers alike. Now, it appears the game is succeeding even in terms of sales.
Launched on August 06, 2025,Hi-Fi Rushis a rhythm-based action game with a cell-shaded art style reminiscent of other titles likeJet Set RadioandSunset Overdrive 2.Prior toHi-Fi Rush, Tango Gameworks largely focused on horror titles likeThe Evil WithinandGhostwire: Tokyo. The release of a rhythm-based action title marks a notable departure for the studio from its previous projects. However, its current reception suggests that the move may have been a wise call for Tango Gameworks.

According to a Steam charts report of top-selling titles for the week ending January 29,Hi-Fi Rushsits at the eighth spot on the list.Forspokenon the other hand, which was released a day before Tango’s title, doesn’t make it to the top ten sellers on Steam during the same week. It’s a notable statistic, particularly consideringForspokenships with a $70 price tag whileHi-Fi Rushcomes at only $30. Despite being shadow dropped, the rhythm-based action game so far has a 98% overwhelmingly positive review score on Steam whereasForspokenhas garnered a mixed review score on the platform - thoughForspoken’s PC issuesmight not have helped make a good impression among gamers.
In addition toHi-Fi Rush, other titles likeHogwarts Legacyand theDead Spaceremake have also made it to the top sellers' on Steam list, each in second and third places respectively. What’s interesting isHogwarts Legacy’s performance in sales despite the title not releasing until February 7, which may indicate the level of anticipation among the fan base. In any case, it will be interesting to see if the game will be able to outdoHi-Fi RushorForspokenin terms of audience reception.
As of now, it’s unclear what the future holds forHi-Fi Rush. While its success may point to a possible sequel, the studio has yet to confirm any post-launch plans officially. On the other hand, the game’s shadow drop strategy could be a sign of morepromising things to come from Xbox. If Microsoft’s Xbox Developer Direct is any indication, it’s that the gaming company could have more entertaining surprises up its sleeve in 2023.
Hi-Fi Rushis available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
