Many open-world games utilize some sort offast travel featureso that players can quickly get to previously explored areas without trudging all the way back and wasting precious time. Luckily, there isfast travelinHorizon Forbidden West, just like its predecessor, and this guide will go over when it unlocks and how players can use it.
How to Unlock Fast Travel in Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon Forbidden Westplayers will need to make it through the game’s opening missions before getting access to fast travel. This means players need to get to the point when they start themain story mission called “To The Brink,” which starts once Aloy makes her way to the west on her machine mount. Once the opening credits end, players will meet Karhn, who will begrudgingly escort Aloy down the cable car into the machine-infested area. While riding down, players will receive twoFast Travel Packs.

How to Fast Travel in Horizon Forbidden West
Players can use these packs to fast travel and thenchoose a campfire or settlement on the map. Of course, players will only be able to travel to places they’ve previously visited. Tocraft an extra Fast Travel Pack, Aloy will need to collect 10 Ridge-Wood and 3 Wild Meat. However, this isn’t the only way to fast travel.
Once players get off the cable car, they’ll be able to interact with the firstCampfirein the game. Not only areCampfires used to quick and manual save, but players can also utilize them to fast travel to another Campfire for free without the use of a Fast Travel Pack.
Just press the O button on the PS4 orDualsense controllertofast travel at the Campfire. Since this is the first Campfire to find, there’s no reason to fast travel anywhere, but once players get farther in the story, there will be plenty of places to travel to and from.
When looking at themap forHorizon Forbidden West, hover over the Campfire, and if fast travel is allowed,press the R2 button to confirm. Unfortunately, if players are not close to a Campfire, they will have no choice but to use or craft a Fast Travel Pack. But at least the materials used to make it aren’t that hard to track down, especially Ridge-Wood, which is all over the place.
