Guerrilla Games has released Patch 1.13 forHorizon Forbidden West, the hit action role-playing game about saving the world from a post-apocalyptic blight. Note: though largely comprised of bug fixes, the patch notes do include some spoilers for various narrative elements ofHorizon Forbidden West.Coming up on its third month,Forbidden Westis still an extremely popular game and a definite contender for this year’s Game of the Year award. Of course, though the game islauded for its graphics and technical specs, it still has its technical bugs, all of which Guerrilla is acutely aware.RELATED:Horizon Forbidden West Player Discovers Interesting Detail After Reaching Top of MountainThe patch notes (continue to the end of this article for the full notes) begin with Guerrilla Games acknowledging some known issues that are on deck to be fixed in the near future. Then, the notes go on to discuss fixes being made in thedifferent main and side questsas well as different world activities, such as cauldrons, contracts, rebel camps, etc. Finally, the rest of the patch notes cover bug fixes and other miscellaneous changes in the game.
One of the most highly anticipated fixes is that of the Apex Grimhorn being missed in terms of themachine catalogue.Prior to this update, if the player fails to scan the Apex Grimhorn during the “Dying Lands” questline, it becomes difficult to attain the Platinum Trophy for the game, because this machine does not have any other dedicated spawn site other than the Arena. So, now that completing this questline automatically unlocks this entry in the catalogue, players no longer have to worry about missing out on scanning the Apex Grimhorn and then waiting to get to a certain level of the arena to have another shot at it.
The game developers are really taking the time to hear the voices of the fans and players and working hard toprovide support forHorizon Forbidden West, even going to the trouble of acknowledging known issues that are being worked on but have not yet been fully addressed. This show of dedication fosters loyalty in the fanbase and creates a positive developer/gamer relationship.
It is impossible for developers to fix every issue in a massive game and address every concern posed by millions of players, but Guerrilla Games does its best to continually provide support to the fanbase. This is done byrolling out patches forHorizon Forbidden Westin order to ensure the game’s lasting impact on the gaming community.
