Final Fantasy 14’s Dawntrailexpansion addedseveral hours of content to the acclaimed MMO. The Main Scenario Quests are a significant part of it but are far from the only thing players can dedicate to completing. There are many options as to what to do after beating the MSQ, including the sidequests the new expansion added.
While some optionalquests such as “Once a Riddler, Now a Ruler"offer more details about some ofDawntrail’s amazing new characters, others unlock interesting rewards. These rewards can include minions, as is the case with the"Corn of Necessity"quest, which is the first step to unlocking the Cornservant minion inFinal Fantasy 14. In this guide, you will learn everything you need to complete the quest and meet all the requirements to get the minion!
How To Complete ‘Corn Of Necessity’ In FF14
The only requirement for the quest to be available is to complete the level 90 Main Scenario Quest “The Rite of Succession”. Once that is done, the level 90 quest"Corn of Necessity"will be available with the Curious Corn in Tuliyollal (X: 16.4, Y: 12.8). It’s worth noting, however, that the entire quest chain won’t be available right away. To have access to the entire quest and unlock the minion, players must firstadvance on the Main Scenarioand complete the level 99 quest “Unto the Summit”.
If you have already advanced in the story, the quest will take you back to some of the places you have already visited. You could use the opportunity tolook for Aether Currentsor even do everything you need tounlock flying in each Dawntrail zone!
When you approach theCurious Corn, who prefers to be called theCornservant, they will be happy you may see them, and will ask for your help to aid people afflicted by hunger. The three NPCs you must approach will be in Tuliyollal: the Hungry Youth (X: 15.5, Y: 11.7) in Bayside Bevy, close to where you will be; the Hungry Woman (X: 13.6, Y: 11.6), also in Bayside Bevy, but closer to the aetheryte; and finally the Hungry Mamool Ja (X: 11.9, Y: 13.3) in Talonmarch.
After talking to each of them, go to the glowing circle (X: 10.9, Y: 13.5) to finish the sequence where the Cornservant will be accompanying you. Speak to them again a little further west (X: 8.3, Y: 13.7) to end the quest.You will receive two Turali Corn, as well as some EXP - and, of course, this will make the next quest available (a pattern that will persist throughout the quest chain).
How To Complete ‘Too Much Of A Good Thing’ In FF14
The quest"Too Much of a Good Thing"can be picked up after “Corn of Necessity” is completed, as long as the player has completed the level 90 MSQ “Knowing the Pelupelu”. This time, the Cornservant (X: 28.5, Y: 13.7) will be found near the aetheryte in Wachunpelo, in Urqopacha.
The Cornservant continues on their quest to aid those troubled by hunger in any way. Your objective will be to interact with the Peckish Pelupelu (X: 27.5, Y: 13.0), who isn’t getting enough nutrients as a result of only eating corn. After talking to the malnourished boy, speak with the Cornservant in the same place to complete the quest.
How To Complete ‘Stretched Thin’ In FF14
Another quest will be available after you finish “Corn of Necessity” and level 90 MSQ “Knowing the Hanuhanu”. The Cornservant (X: 17.7, Y: 11.5) will be in Kozama’uka, right by the Ok’hanu aetheryte, with the quest"Stretched Thin”. Your objective will be to interact with the Hungry Hanuhanu (X: 16.8, Y: 13.5), who is suffering after her family lost most of their food supply. After you and the Cornservant help her, simply speak to your corn companion again to finish the quest.
How To Complete ‘A Stomach For Change’ In FF14
The next quest in the chain will be"A Stomach For Change". It requires that all previous quests in this questline have been completed, but also the level 94 MSQ “Taking a Stand”. The Cornservant will, once again, be easy to spot: they (X: 13.4, Y: 13.4) will be near the Iq Br’aax aetheryte.
A Hungry Xbr’aal (X: 11.4, Y: 13.5) will be in need of aid. Go to him with the Cornservant to solve the issue, then speak to your corn companion to complete the quest.
How To Complete ‘Tastes Like Home’ In FF14
Head to Shaaloani to continue your corn adventures by picking up the quest"Tastes Like Home". You need to complete the previous Cornservant quests and the level 95 MSQ “Law of the Land” for it to be available. Once the requirements have been met, the Cornservant will be in Hhusatahwi - but do note that, this time, they won’t be easily visible near the aetheryte, and can be easy to miss. They (X: 28.9, Y: 29.0) will be closer to the edge of the town, behind a fence and some bushes that make it even harder to see them.
This time, you will help a Hungry Tonawawta (X: 29.8, Y: 30.8), who will tell you he abandoned his familyto try to get richwith ceruleum. As was the case in the previous quests, you and the Cornservant will solve the issue with corn-based food. After that, talk to the Cornservant again to finish the quest.
How To Complete ‘Refined Tastes’ In FF14
Hunger will call the Cornservant to Heritage Found next. Meet them (X: 17.7, Y: 9.7) in The Outskirts, near the aetheryte, to pick up the quest"Refined Tastes". It will be available after all previous Cornservant quests have been completed, as well as the level 97 MSQ “Gone and Forgotten”.
You will find a Hungry Milalla (X: 15.0, Y: 10.3) who is having trouble adapting to eating vegetables. Introduce him to the wonderful corn creation that is popcorn to make him realizenot everything with vegetable origins is bad, then speak to the Cornservant to complete the quest.
How To Complete ‘Tasteful Memories’ In FF14

Help them look for potentially hungry people. You must speak to the Disgruntled Hyune (X: 18.7, Y: 12.9), the Disgruntled Milalla (X: 19.6, Y: 17.8), and the Disgruntled Shetona (X: 17.4, Y: 17.9). Finally, interact with the Disgruntled Woman (X: 21.4, Y: 20.5) to find someone in need. After that, all you need to do is talk to the Cornservant again to complete the quest.
How To Get The Cornservant Minion
After this journey through Turalgetting to hear more about people’s struggles with food and helping them overcome it, your time helping the Cornservant will come to an end. However, by completing the questline you will be rewarded with the Cornservant minion when you complete the final quest, “Tasteful Memories”.
As always, remember that the minion will go to your inventory, and you need to use it to add it to your collection. After doing so, you will haveunlocked a brand newDawntrailminion!
