Redmane Freyja’s quest is heavily tied to Ansbach’s quest inElden Ring Shadow of the ErdtreeDLC. She was one of Radahn’s soldiers and came to the Shadow Realm by following Kind Miquella’s path, just like everyone else.
Upon completing a few steps in her quest, you can obtain the Golden LionShield inElden Ring. It’s a big shield that resembles a fierce lion’s head. According to the item description, it is only awarded to certain members of Radahn’s personal guard.

Upon entering the Land of Shadow and obtaining theGravesite Plain Map Fragment inElden Ring SOTE, go north to the Scorched Ruins and then run northwest past the Furnace Golem to find the Three-Path Cross Site of Lost Grace. There, you will findFreyja. exhaust her dialogue, then head west to the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace and speak withAnsbach.
The next step is to head to the Shadow Keep and explore the legacy dungeon until you stumble uponAnsbach on the first floor and Redmane Freyja on the seventh floorof the Specimen Storehouse.
Speak with Freyja, who is contemplating a stone tablet and doesn’t seem to understand a word. She hints that maybe Ansbach can make sense of this writing but doesn’t know where he is. To help Freyja, you need to locate theSecret Rite Scrolland give it to Ansbach so he can leave a letter for Freyja.

Fast-travel to the Storehouse, Fourth Floor Site of Grace in the Shadow Keep and head out through the western arch. Go left to find two flaming boats anda Fire Knight on top of the stairs. Run past him and then go down the stairs to the left to eventually reach a small room. Turn right to find the Secret Rite Scroll on the table.
Go to Ansbach on the first floor and mention Freyja’s dilemma, then give him the Secret Rite Scroll. Exhaust his dialogue and he should give the Letter for Freyja item. If he didn’t, reload the area and try speaking with Ansbach again to obtain the letter.
Finally, go back to the seventh floor of the Specimen Storehouse and give Freyja the letter from Ansbach. She thanks Tarnished and rewards them with theGolden Lion Shield.
