After a couple of delays,Animal Crossing: New Horizonsis finally out on the Nintendo Switch. The tried and true gameplay of establishing a habitable location and customizing it how you want remains perfectly in tact, thoughNew Horizonsadded in a number of new elements. This time around, players will be attempting to turn a remote island into an inviting and thriving community.

Part of that involves crafting by taking various materials found around the island space and turning them into items like furniture, tools, and much more. Naturally, players will be findingplenty of things to line their pockets with, though at the start of the game, only 20 items can be carried at a time. Critical crafting resources like stone and wood will be taking up plenty of space, not to mention fish, insects, fruit, and other collectibles.

Thankfully,Animal Crossing: New Horizonsfeatures a couple of ways to expand that inventory beyond the initial limit of 20. Here’s everything players need to know.

Inventory Upgrade 1

Thankfully, players won’t have to wait long to make their first inventory expansion. Inside of the Resident Services tent, players should find the ABD or Automatic Bells Dispenser. It’s located in the corner of the room and inside of it, players can purchase a bunch of different things by selecting Redeem Nook Miles. Within the list is the Pocket Organization Guide which will set players back 5,000 Nook Miles, one of the new currencies inside of the game.

While the price may be a bit steep, especially towards the beginning of the game, purchasing the book will unlock 10 additional inventory spaces to bring the total number to 30.

Inventory Upgrade 2

The next, and currently final, way to upgrade the inventory will take a little over a week to make available. After progressing to the point where the player is ready to place three additional houses after the first two were already built, Tom Nook will contact the player once the third and final villager moves in. Nook reveals that he’s upgrading the Residential Services tent into an actual building.

It’ll take about a day of waiting, for those who opt not to dothe whole time travel trick, but once the building is open for business, the Automatic Bells Dispense will have new inventory to look through. The Ultimate Pocket Stuffing Guide will cost a hefty 8,000 Nook Miles but it’ll give players another 10 inventory slots, pushing the grand total to 40.

With the final upgrade unlocked, players will be able to now hold double the amount of stuff they could when they first started. This should make crafting and collecting a lot easier for working with the museum, paying off debts, and making the island fully personalized.
