At the end of July, Atlus announced thatPersona 5 Scramblewould be released in the West, though it had been speculated for some time before that. SinceKoei Tecmo Gamesdevelopers had a hand in the making ofPersona 5 Scrambleas well as this newZeldatitle, the news thatHyrule Warriors: Age of Calamityalready has a worldwide release date so close to its announcement has created a stir in thePersonacommunity. Though that being said, some are content knowing the game will be available sometime in the future.
However, others are upset that Atlus has not been able to provide them with the same experience that Nintendo is showing can be done.Persona 5 Scramblewas released this February in Japan, meaning more news about its localization has taken longer thanLegend of Zeldafanswill have to wait to play the newHyrule Warriorsafter this announcement. This has led some to feel the Atlus localization team is neglecting the well-loved franchise.
Atlushas told its financial investors thatPersona 5 Scramblewill be released in the West by the end of the fiscal year, but that could be any time up to March 2021. While the company has made “Persona 5 Strikers” a registered trademark in the U.S., hinting at the work being done behind the scenes, there has been no official news.
While there isn’t any clear communication from Atlus on this game, a social media post by the officialPersonaTwitter account last month is leading fans to believe that aPersona 5 ScrambleDLCexpansion is in the works. If this is the case, it may explain why the localization isn’t being tied down to a specific date. As Atlus continues working on the localization, it may want to bring the main game and the additional content to Western gamers at the same time. Either way, hopefully fans will get more information on the game soon.
Persona 5: Scrambleis available now for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan.
