APokemonfan and artist used their distinct pixel art style to recreate Fallarbor Town fromPokemon Emeraldand included a few Easter eggs for other trainers to hunt down for fun. The artist posted their recreation on social media, where otherPokemonfans praised them for their effort and made guesses as to what the Easter eggs were.
Originally released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, Pokemon Emerald was the third version in the third generation ofPokemongames and was released two years afterPokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Some elements ofPokemon Emeraldwere carried over when the Hoenn games were remade in 2014’sPokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphirefor the 3DS. WhilePokemon Emeraldhas received some amazing fan artover the years, the towns of the Hoenn region are not often represented. However, one user sought to change that with their pixel art.

A Reddit user named addyxiii, also known as pixeladdy on Instagram, took it upon himself to recreate Fallarbor Town as originally depicted inPokemon Emerald. But, he chose to add a few flourishes and Easter eggs before posting his work on thePokemonsubreddit. Known for previous work ofPokemonanime moments such asAsh letting go of his Butterfree, addyxiii made references to bothPokemon Emeraldand thePokemonanime in his latest work of pixel art. In the third generation ofPokemongames, Fallarbor Town is located near Mount Chimney, an active volcano. In addyxiii’s artwork, Buildings such as the Battle Tent and Pokemon Center remained as they were inPokemon Emerald, and anime characters such as Brock, Nurse Joy, and Chansey were spotted by keen-eyedPokemonfans.
The post from addyxiii received over 830 upvotes on thePokemonsubreddit in two days. However, addyxiii said that he kept one Easter egg hidden in plain sight. This claim led to somePokemontrainers commenting on what it could be. After several guesses, a few trainers correctly guessed that a hidden Jirachi was the Easter egg addyxiii talked about. Known as the Wish Pokemon, Jirachi debuted inPokemon Ruby and Sapphireas a Mythical Pokemon that was usually distributed via in-person events or the Mystery Gift feature. Despite its rarity,Jirachi remained a popular choice forPokemonfan artover the years.
Some Pokemon featured in the pixel art, such as Jirachi, remained unobtainable inPokemon Scarlet and Violetat the time of writing. It remains to be seen if and when some of them that were depicted in addyxiii’s work will make the trip to the Paldea region.
