The news about Chandler and Close’s casting was broken byDeadline, which did not list the nature of their roles. The publication noted that the plot of the film was being kept under wraps, but stated that Seth Gordon, who worked onHorrible Bosses,is directing based on a script by Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors). Foxx is known for taking on action roles. Just recently,Foxx starred alongside Tom Holland inSpider-Man: No Way Home.Meanwhile, Diaz is known for her comedic roles. It wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that the two may be playing co-leads, perhaps even romantic co-leads.
Close is known for a vast array of projects; while some are comedic, others are dramatic. Her role is definitely up in the air, but it’s likely an actress of her caliber isn’t going to be a minor role. An actress like Glenn Close isn’t usually hired for cameos (Guardians of the Galaxynotwithstanding). Meanwhile, Chandler is known more for action-oriented movies, as shown by his role in last year’sGodzilla vs. Kong.
