Summary

Images of a newSonic the HedgehogLEGO set have recently surfaced, giving fans another look at the minifigure versions of Knuckles the Echidna and Rouge the Bat. LEGO has collaborated with several video game franchises over the past few years, andSonic the Hedgehogjoined this growing list back in 2022. ThefirstSonic-based LEGO setfeatured the titular Blue Blur battling his classic nemesis Dr. Eggman in the iconic Green Hill Zone and featured such accessories as Badnik robots, rings, power-up boxes, and even the seven mystical Chaos Emeralds.

Sonic’s blocky antics wouldn’t stop there, as Sega and LEGO announced a full series ofSonic the Hedgehogbuilding sets earlier this year – as heralded by Dr. Eggman himself. Thefirst five of theseSonicsetsfeatured fan-favorite characters like Tails and Amy alongside a revamped version of their mustache-wearing archenemy and a hint at his colossal Death Egg robot. The dark anti-hero Shadow the Hedgehog would join in on the fun in yet another LEGO set that was leaked earlier this month, and fans have already caught glimpses of minifigures for Knuckles and Rouge.

Now the instruction manual for therecently revealed Shadow LEGO sethas been leaked as well, and with it a look at anotherSonic the Hedgehogset starring Knuckles and Rogue. Reddit user Key_Industries shared a screenshot of this set’s promotional image on r/SonicTheHedgehog. This playset features minifigures of Knuckles and Rogue as they seemingly battle over the Master Emerald, the ancient gemstone that Knuckles has devoted his life to guarding, and Rouge often plots to steal. The red Echidna guardian is shown piloting a large mech in his likeness, while his winged arch-rival is flying toward him in a small glider of some kind.

Sonic the Hedgehogfans are already somewhat divided over this new LEGO set in the comments section of Key_Industries, with many arguing that Knuckles’ mech doesn’t fit his character and Rouge doesn’t really need a glider since she can already fly. Others are simply happy that these two popularSonic the Hedgehogcharacters are getting the same minifigure treatment as their castmates, and there are even a few jokes about how Knuckles’ signature red boots already look like LEGO bricks.

The past couple of years have been pretty eventful forSonic the Hedgehogfans, with Sega’s beloved mascot and his supporting castracing across a wide range of gamesand tie-in media. Knuckles in particular has made out rather well, finally returning as a playable character in bothSonic Frontiers: The Final HorizonandSonic Superstarsthis year. Meanwhile, his rival Rogue remains as popular as ever, even becoming a playable character in the upcomingSonic Dream Teammobile game. Now fans will be able to collect LEGO versions of both these beloved characters once their designatedSonic the Hedgehogbuilding set hits stores, presumably sometime in 2024.
