The first half of 2022 is shaping up to be one of the strongest first-halves to any year for gaming ever, headlined by major titles such asElden RingandHorizon: Forbidden West. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawas first announced during Xbox’s E3 2019 press conference, where longtime LEGO game developer TT Games revealed that it would be adapting all nine of the mainStar Warsmovies into a new rebooted gameplay style for theLEGOseries. This gameplay style mixes more complex 3D melee combat with third-person shooting elements bringing the series in line with other 3D platforming franchises.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Multiplayer
Now, almost fifteen years after its release, six of the nine titles represented inLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagaoffer what can be considered full remakes ofLEGO Star Wars: The Complete Sagaand its recreations of the first sixStar Warsmovies.
Much likeLEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, TT Games has confirmed thatThe Skywalker Sagawill include full couch co-op from launch, with all nine entries in the series being playable from beginning to end in co-op multiplayer.
Unfortunately, like almost every entry in the series with a few exceptions,LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawill not include online co-op or a competitive online multiplayer mode.
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Sagawas one of the fewLEGOgames to offer online multiplayerwhen it was released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It andLEGO Indiana Jones 2remain the only two entries in the entire TT GamesLEGOseries to offer online co-op.
Steam players looking to play together do have one option to play together online with the service’s built-in Remote Play Together functionality. This allows players joining in co-op to stream the game remotely and interacts with the game the same as if the players were playing couch co-op together. Hopefully, TT Games will add a true online co-op mode post-launch.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawill release on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on April 5th, 2022.
