A very luckyPokemon GOplayer was gifted a second chance when they missed their opportunity to catch a Galarian Articuno. The unexpectedPokemon GOsecond chance was made even better by finding a version of the bird with superior CP.
Simply encountering aGalarian Legendary bird inPokemon GOis a challenge in and of itself. The only opportunity players have under normal circumstances to meet these rare Pokemon is to use their Daily Adventure Incense. With only one incense per day and only fifteen minutes of effectiveness, players have to make the absolute most of their time to even have a chance of seeing one of these rare Legendary Pokemon. However, that’s just part of the challenge, as the Legendary birds have a high rate of escape from battle, leaving many players empty handed.
That looked like it was going to be the case forPokemon GOplayer Puzzleheaded-Dish157, who popped theirDaily Adventure Incenseand were thrilled to discover a Galarian Articuno. The Galarian Articuno had a low CP of just 147, and promptly ran away. However, seven minutes later, another Galarian Articuno popped, this time with a much higher CP of 2494. The player tried again, and this time succeeded in netting the rare Pokemon with a critical catch.
Pokemon GO Players Are Impressed (And Envious)
FellowPokemon GOfans were quick to heap congratulations and praise on Puzzleheaded-Dish157, who now only needs to get Galarian Moltres to complete the trio of Legendary Galarian birds. The OP and some commenters joked about the Galarian Articuno they initially encountered being the same one they met later on, but that it had escaped in order to boost its CP so the player would get a better catch.
Others expressed envy or surprise that the Galarian Legendaries were even available with Daily Adventure Incense, as several players still haven’t seen them pop up at all. However, as previously mentioned, these encounters are rare to begin with, so it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that these birds have yet to make an appearance in some players' games. Unfortunately, some fans have been struck withincredibly bad luck inPokemon GO, missing multiple catches including during an encounter with Moltres.
If catching the Galarian Legendary birds inPokemon GOwere easy, it wouldn’t be as special to actually have them. However, there are probably some fans out there who really wish they had Puzzleheaded-Dish157’s luck and got asecond chance at catching powerful Pokemonthey’ve missed the opportunity to grab in the past.
