The intro sequence and its appropriate backing track “Alive” did a great job of reflecting Peter’s personality as he suited up, and the music continuing during players’ first swing was incredible. Though what followed was a tutorial sequence, capping it off with a boss fight against Kingpin was a great way to set the tone and show how far along this version of Spider-Man was into his career.
Seemingly recognizing that it had found a winning formula,Spider-Man: Miles Moralesalso capped off its tutorial with a boss fight, this time against Rhino. It even managed to one-up the original in terms of spectacle, as instead of just having Miles beat down criminals beforebattling Rhino, a breathtaking sequence where players ride Rhino through a mall takes place. Though it sets a high bar, there is no reason Insomniac cannot top itself yet again with a show stealing opening mission.

How Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s Opening Sequence Can Be a Step Up
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s opening sequence already has one advantage the other games did not:two active Spider-Menthat will likely be playable. While the intro can begin with players in control of Peter, at some point they can switch to Miles, which could serve as a mind-blowing reveal of how exactly character swapping could work. Though it has not been confirmed whether this will even be a mechanic, and how often players will control each hero, revealing it in a tutorial could make for a memorable moment. Flashy team-up moves that feature both Spider-Men would just be icing on the cake.
The opening sequence could be capped off with a boss fight like in the first two games, showing off how well Peter and Mikes work together and giving players a larger threat to deal with. With two Spideys on active duty, a low-powered foe like Shocker would not be the route to go. Instead, Insomniac can deliver a city-spanning battle where playersencounter Mysterioand break through his illusions, or maybe take on a version of Sandman that is growing increasingly large and out of control.
