For months, rumors have been swirling that EA plans on releasingMass Effect Trilogy Remastered, which would bring BioWare’s classic sci-fi RPGs to modern consoles. However, whenEA Playcame and went with no announcement, many fans lost hope that Commander Shepard’s groundbreaking adventure would get its new lease on life. But now a retail listing for the unannouncedMass Effect Trilogy Remasteredhas appeared online, giving fans new hope.

Portuguese store GamingReplay posted and then quickly removed a listing forMass Effect Trilogy Remastered, but not before screenshots were taken and preserved online. If the listing is to be believed,Mass Effect Trilogy Remasteredwill launch in October for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. It looks as thoughMass Effect Trilogy Remasteredwill be a full-priced release, but otherwise no other details are available at this time.

It’s worth pointing out that this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of an October release date forMass Effect Trilogy Remastered. Industry insiders have previously stated that theMass Effect Trilogy Remastered’s release date will be in Octoberat some point, though they acknowledged that the project could potentially be delayed. Since it’s nearly October and EA still has yet to announce the collection, it’s entirely possible that it has indeed been delayed, and the GamingReplay listing had outdated information.

Presumably,Mass Effect Trilogy Remasteredwould be more or less direct ports of the original threeMass Effectgames, but with somewhat improved visuals, all of theDLC expansionsincluded, and maybe some small gameplay tweaks. But since the collection hasn’t actually been announced, that is just speculation at this time.

As for whenMass Effect Trilogy Remasteredwill actually be announced, that remains to be seen. However, there is one distinct possibility. Nintendo has recently confirmed its nextNintendo Direct Mini Showcasefor Thursday, September 17 at 9am PT. WithMass Effect Trilogy Remasteredsupposedly coming to the Nintendo Switch, it’s entirely within the realm of possibility that the announcement will take place tomorrow.

While some fans may be anxious to play new BioWare games, like theupcomingDragon Age 4, others will be happy to have something to fill the gap. TheMass Effectgames are some of the highest-rated games ever made, and it will be nice for people to have a way to play them on modern consoles outside of the Xbox One backward compatibility program. Here’s hoping that theMass Effect Trilogy Remasteredrumors are true, and that fans can get confirmation sooner rather than later.

Mass Effect Trilogy Remasteredis rumored to be launching in October 2020 for PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
