The fifth season ofMortal Kombat 11’s Kombat League is now underway, and players are currently busy grinding matches and unlocking new skins. Cosmetics are not all that has been added toMortal Kombat 11with this new season, though, as there are a number of new finishers for fans to enjoy as well. One of these finishers is a new Brutality for Baraka, and it serves as a nice throwback to a classic Fatality.
Dubbed “Straight Cut,” this newMortal Kombat 11Brutalityfor Baraka is exceedingly simple but gruesome nonetheless. In it, theMK11character uses his signature blades to administer a quick strike to his opponent’s neck, separating their head completely from their body. In what is perhaps the most horrifying moment of the Brutality, the decapitated foe then reaches their hands up to find their head missing before falling to the ground.

While this may seem fairly stock when it comes toMK11Brutalities, veterans of the franchise will know that it is actually a recreation of Baraka’s decapitation Fatality fromMortal Kombat 2. For some players, this will gives the finisher some additional appeal, and comparing the new Brutality with the old Fatality showcases just how far theMortal Kombatserieshas come over the years.
Baraka is not the onlyMortal Kombat 11characterto get an additional Brutality in this season of the Kombat League, though, as Kabal has received one as well. While Kabal’s is not pleasantly referential in the way that Baraka’s is, it is still quite a treat, and it features the fighter using his hooks to rip the torso off of an opponent. Called “Can’t Breathe,” this new Kabal Brutality is extremely grisly, and many players will certainly want to use it to close out their matches in the future.
ThefirstMortal Kombat 11Kombat Leaguebegan back in June, and the subsequent seasons have given fans a reason to remain engaged with the title over the course of several months. While some players may find the Kombat League more frustrating than fun, others certainly appreciate the chance to earn new skins and see some brand new finishers like the ones featured here.
