Coming off a successful Closed Alpha test this past week, fans of Warner Bros platform fighterMultiversuscontinue to hunger for news. The closed alpha, while not open for everyone, gave players a good look at the mechanics and gameplay. ConsideringMultiversusis free to play, players also got a taste of possible microtransactions including customization options and a battle pass. For the closed alpha, the battle pass was free, though that more than likely won’t be the case once the game officially launches.

The Alpha also gave players a chance to go hands on with two of the three newly revealed characters including theTasmanian Devil fromLooney Tunesand Velma Dinkley fromScooby Doo. Warner Bros has a vast amount of IPs and franchises, so one of the big draws ofMultiversusis seeing which characters will be added to the roster. Naturally, fans have continued to datamine the game in order to gain some insight into future announcements, with numerous leaks potentially spoiling some upcoming surprises.

The latest character leak comes from LusiaMV on Twitter who posted a short video detailing a ninja fighter that appears to still be in development forMultiversus. While the character is using Steven Universe for an icon, the character is fast and agile, using hit-and-run style gameplay. The character appears to have a horizontal dash strike, some sort of close range energy burst, and a teleportation mechanic where they throw out a projectile and then warp to it.

Currently, the community is debating who it could be, either anoriginal character like Reindog, or potentially tying into an existing franchise. Fans may have spotted their first clue as the projectile used in teleporting features a symbol on it that appears to resemble the jutsu seal used throughout the Naruto anime. What’s more is that the codename for the projectile is called ShadowClone, which is a technique used by the lead character, Naruto Uzumaki, to make copies of himself. Naturally, this has sent the fanbase into a frenzy of speculation.

What’s interesting is that Naruto isn’t a franchise that is owned by Warner Bros. However, the crossover could still be happening as WB does have major ties to the franchise thanks to DVD distribution rights, so at the very least, there is a connection and possible path forward.

While having a fast moving ninja-style character would likely please many fans, this possible leak is one of many that has happened over the past week. Dataminers have found a wealth of information in the PC files during the Alpha Test including possiblecharacter additions like Eleven fromStranger Things, Raven fromTeen Titans, and even Pickle Rick fromRick and Morty. It’s clear that Player First and WB are going all out and have more than a few surprises still left to share.
